Not pained because Morgan Rogers went to Chelsea, I'm annoyed because even the journalists we trust sold us all out.

Our strategy is definitely highly questionable if not downright shocking, but this is abysmal from Chelsea. They didn’t even attempt to negotiate; they just paid Villa exactly what they wanted. If we had got him for £117m I’d be livid! He’s not worth that at all

If you want to negotiate a good deal, don’t piss off the selling club.

If you want a player, show the intent you want them - before potentially putting them off.

I have to say, I find the current transfer fee inflation confusing. We are seeing big jumps over recent summers.

Usually this is tied to new TV deals but that didn’t happen here. Maybe the new PL financial restrictions are less binding?
