Not really fussed about the player it’s more of the whole approach to this. Price haggling over your #1 TARGET for so long that a rival club can successfully swoop in ESPECIALLY considering your Premier League champions is just pathetic
So apprently we could have signed him in the World Cup for £100m but wanted to take ages to talk to multiple targets.
Then with all the deals (Anderson/Fernandes/Tonali) they upped the price and we didn't want to pay.
Great job Mr.Octopus Berta
Not pained because Morgan Rogers went to Chelsea, I'm annoyed because even the journalists we trust sold us all out.
I remember HOA once said Rogers was not interested in Chelsea's project and he wanted only Arsenal which is all contradictory to David orstein's exclusive this evening.
@Jabronihunter1 All he’s doing is antagonising everyone else and making them not want to sell their players to us. Only reason we got Eze is because of the great relationship between our Board and theirs, and because Eze pushed for the move. He’s clearly not at the required level
Our strategy is definitely highly questionable if not downright shocking, but this is abysmal from Chelsea. They didn’t even attempt to negotiate; they just paid Villa exactly what they wanted. If we had got him for £117m I’d be livid! He’s not worth that at all
Spent two whole months hearing Morgan Rogers was Arteta’s priority, only to watch Chelsea wrap it up in days while we sat on our hands. "Can't sign players during the World Cup" though 😭
If you want a player really badly in this economy, pay up.
If you want to negotiate a good deal, don’t piss off the selling club.
If you want a player, show the intent you want them - before potentially putting them off.
Mind boggling stuff.
City are getting away with 115
SCR is replacing PSR
Both give clubs more leeway to spend freely knowing that the PL cannot justifiably punish them or stop them
It’s only the beginning. It’ll get worse very soon
I have to say, I find the current transfer fee inflation confusing. We are seeing big jumps over recent summers.
Usually this is tied to new TV deals but that didn’t happen here. Maybe the new PL financial restrictions are less binding?
Am I missing something here?
Berta needs to understand this ain’t Atleti where if u miss out on a target u can grab some average guy and no one really notices
Our pool of possible players is very small lol, you can’t take weeks to make moves, this is basic stuff.
Trying to bring the market back to your valuation like you’re the messiah lol. Arsenal don’t decided the market, every club involved in it collectively decides its trajectory and there’s no elite forwards in supply for “market value”
Players aren’t gonna sit around and wait while you haggle over pennies, Monga was ready to come but another club paid the money and he joined them. Same with Rogers. What if Bruno G gets tired of waiting and someone else pays?
Damn. This the most I’ve talked about football all summer. That’s how much this shit is bothering me.
Fuck Rodgers. It’s the principle of it all. When will it end?
Let’s just all say it how it is.
There is no “something else” happening or a “plan b agreed” in place of not getting Rogers.
Arsenal could’ve had the deal for less than Chelsea paid weeks ago if they didn’t mess around.
Don’t pretend this isn’t a failure from Berta and those involved - something I hope KSE take huge note of.
not even blinding supporting Arsenal anymore.
I just know, if I made the calls, I would have told Aston Villa to eat a dick.
You want me to pay the highest piece ever paid for a player.. for Rodgers? Are you out of your fucking mind?
