Power transmission services in Southwestern Mindanao remain stable despite the 5.3 magnitude earthquake that occurred 38 kilometers southwest of Balut Island, Municipality of Sarangani, Davao Occidental at 10:21 AM, 04 July 2026.

The grid remains intact as there had been no reported damaged transmission facilities in Southwestern Mindanao and nearby areas where the earthquake was felt.

Affected: Parts of ISELCO I (Paddad, Prenza and San Fermin Substations)

Reason: Preventive and corrective maintenance activities at Santiago Substation and along Santiago–Cauayan 69kV transmission line.

MAGELCO - Capiton, Rajah Silongan Kudarat, Salbu, & Talayan Substations

SUKELCO - Dansuli, Dukay, Isulan, Datu Paglas, Malipayon, and Kalamansig Substations

Reason: To facilitate various activities at NGCP Tacurong Substation

Brief power interruptions are transfer of loads before and after the scheduled works. Loads from Power Transformer No. 4 will be temporarily transferred to Power Transformer No. 3, increasing its load. To avoid its overloading, a voluntary load shedding is requested from the affected electric cooperatives during peak hours from 10:00AM to 7:00PM, as necessary.

Specific affected areas are determined by the electric cooperatives. NGCP will exert all efforts to restore power earlier or as scheduled.

Reason: Outage of Tacurong-Datu Saudi Ampatuan 69kV line at 8:47AM is for further investigation to determine the root cause. Power was partially restored up to Tacurong-Esperanza areas at 10:07AM.

Specific affected areas are determined by the electric cooperative.

Partially restored: Tacurong-Esperanza 69kV line segment

Reason: Outage of Tacurong-Datu Saudi Ampatuan 69kV line at 8:47AM. Power was partially restored up to Tacurong-Esperanza areas while Esperanza-Capiton 69kV line segment remain isolated for the continuation of line patrol to determine the root cause.

Affected: LASURECO
Restored: Marawi-Malabang 69kV line segment

Reason: the line tripped at 5:39PM a bamboo grass touched the 69kV line in Brgy. Tambak, Calanagos. Line was partially re-energized at Tugaya Disconnect Switch (DS) at 5:56PM thereby restoring power up to Bacolod-Kalawi areas.
