@christiwhittem There was a commercial showing someone throwing litter out of a car which landed near a Native American who then had a tear running down his face. Probably 1970s. A govt agency commercial. A trash problem then, but not all these plastics, esp forever plastics
@AaronDChandler@maggiewestrum Thank you, Aaron. A serendipitous appearance of just the poem we needed at the time we needed it. I wish I had written it, though.
@AaronDChandler@maggiewestrum From “Approaching Sundown” by Jorie Graham in the New Yorker on Jan. 12:
“It is possible consciousness dis-
appears from the atmosphere
taking with it the crazed
minutes
running towards the end”
…
“That anything that occurred before is
erased. Do not
forget this”
@Patty_Cakes_xx@HJoyceGender “I don’t got” is only an Americanism in the rural South, and maybe a few places I don’t know about. As an American, I would stare in horror at my children or students if they said such a thing. Perhaps she jests?
@raybould_drs@TopTweetTuesday Oh how much I feel this! Even moreso now watching my grandchildren play, as they so easily shift together from one pretend imaginary scene to another! “Now let’s be…” one will say. Thank you so much for including your passionate speaking of it!
@costan07@TopTweetTuesday Yesterday I heard a European journalist aptly describe the Trump administration’s actions toward other nations as though they are playing a video game, without any actual understanding or engagement with what they are doing. (I’m sorry I forgot his name and can’t find it on npr.)
@craigh_@Joseph_Fasano_ Yes, it is misinformation because that is all that they have. They only can see what they want to see and hence create. They are unable to see the reality, the reality we are living in and the opposite reality that we want.
