Up until the 1990s, parents let their kids wander the neighborhood all day without phones, trusting them to simply return home before dark.
That was an era when children built real, organic connections. But, for the generation born in 2005 and later, parenting styles have completely shifted.
Today, children are handed smartphones, and parents find reassurance in tracking their location.
Looking at this shift, I often wonder if parents of today (myself included) have mistakenly traded psychological security for physical security. By confining children’s world to a digital screen under the guise of keeping them safe, parents may be depriving them of the very experiences that build genuine resilience.
The '90s kid learned to navigate real-world conflicts, boredom, and social dynamics entirely face-to-face, earning a deep sense of self-reliance by sundown.
Today, while parents know exactly where their children are located on a map, they are left entirely in the dark about the depth of the connections their children are making, or missing in the online world. Their world is entirely a different world.
@ptrmadurai You were the best professional Finance Minister that the Previous Government missed with, for reason's best only known to them ! I only wish the collation of all the analytics into a Dashboard, that you proposed, had completely been initiated. It was a great miss !
Thought provoking article by the distingushed economist Dr. Anoop Singh which we discussed in Delhi last evening.
Around the world, improved fiscal management and enhanced execution efficiency are the burning needs of all governments at all levels
I was often accused of having a "corporate" attitude when I stressed the need for managing finances professionally, and improving the execution capabilites of all departments. In fact, bringing "corporate"-level professionalism and performance management should be encouraged, not resisted...

Today we remember physics laureate François Englert, whose groundbreaking work revealed that everything around us is composed of just a few fundamental components.
In 1964, independently of one another, Englert's team and Peter Higgs proposed a theory about the presence of a particle that explains why other particles have a mass.
The entire Standard Model – which demonstrates how the world is constructed – rests on the existence of this special kind of particle: the Higgs particle. It originates from an invisible field that fills up all space. Even when the universe seems empty this field is there. Without it, we would not exist, because from contact with this field that particles acquire mass. The theory proposed by Englert and Higgs describes this process.
The Higgs particle was finally discovered in 2012, confirming their prediction. Englert and Higgs were awarded the 2013 Nobel Prize in Physics.

Suvendhu Adhikary Govt brings a new legislation to arrest and detain anyone for 12 months without any trial. Surprisingly the term “anti-social activities” which is not defined and anyone arrested cannot even hire his own lawyer.

MONUMENTAL SHAME!
Modi's newest foreign award from Seychelles is so "prestigious" that it is LITERALLY AI-Generated
A few days ago, on 24th June, Seychelles CREATED a new award called “Guardian of the Blue Horizon.” Yesterday, I.e. 4 days later, this “newly created” award was given to Modi during his visit.
What’s SHOCKING is that the citation of this supposed “award” is likely AI-generated. The words “Republic” and even the name of the country “Seychelles” itself are mis-spelt on the award.
Over the last couple of years, it has been a trend that Modi expects a “civilian honor” from whichever country he goes to. Foreign countries have realized that the easiest way to please Modi is to give him an award. For this, they sometimes even create new non existent awards to satisfy Modi’s PR.
Modi has sold out and the world knows this. They know they can get benefits from India just by giving Modi a random award. That’s why they literally even CREATE new awards just for Modi.
Modi’s inferiority complex and his fragile ego is now causing global humiliation for our country. His craving for PR is so bad that even AI-generated foreign awards are being presented as some “achievement” by BJP.
As a proud Indian, I want to ask whether Indian media will finally have the guts to report on this and question Modi on his desperation even for fake awards?
Will the media uphold the prestige of INDIA instead of Modi’s ego?
When Bihar lost most of its forests after Jharkhand was carved out, many saw it as a setback. Even IFS officer Arvinder Singh did.
He admits he was initially disappointed with his Bihar cadre posting. The state had limited forests, fragmented green patches and

I’m a town with a buttery reputation,
So famous that people call me India’s “Butter Town.”
My creamy treasure is made the old-fashioned way,
Beaten on wooden boards till every drop of buttermilk is chased away.
I stay fresh for weeks without a fridge,
Thanks to traditions passed down through generations.
The cows and buffaloes here feast on hardy grasses,
Giving my butter a rich aroma and a gentle tang.
My butter is so iconic, it carries my name wherever it goes.
Can you guess the name of this town?

IMPORTANT: West Bengal is reportedly dropping eggs from school mid-day meals and handing over a vegetarian-only meal contract to ISKCON. Meanwhile, states like Karnataka and Tamil Nadu are expanding nutrition for children with more protein-rich food. School meals should be guided by science and nutrition, not politics or religious preferences. Keep ideology off a child’s plate, for God’s sake. 🙏
