Our last spotlight webinar featured an amazing team of educators from Nova Scotia who have transformed literacy instruction and outcomes. The recording is now up on our YouTube channel. @nseducation#SoR#StructuredLiteracy#RightToRead

Last night we also sent the audio of these conversations out into the world as a podcast! You can find that here: https://t.co/g69UuNBIz0
(Still waiting for it to be added to Google podcasts but it is on iTunes already)
Some members of our team had the opportunity to share our school’s story of improving literacy achievement for all - check it out! Re-culturing literacy instruction in a Nova Scotia School https://t.co/I85iiDTJlx
Wow, indeed! Wonderful to witness the quality implementation of these critical components of a literacy program yesterday. Congratulations to the teachers, team & students @NG_Academy. Learning together to ensure every child a reader is a reality. #Responsive#Inclusion#Equity
Gr.8 Ss at NGA solve a thinking task. Centering Ss in their learning & giving them space to bring their ways of knowing into the classroom allows us & them to see their brilliance, allows them to build life skills & works towards equity in our education system. #ccrce@NG_Academy
@CcrceL@CCRCE_NS Very cool! @NG_Academy has our Student Success Planning Well-being measure as “Joyful School Experiences” this year. Will be checking out that book! Thanks for sharing!
The 2021-22 school year will focus on creating a safe, normal school environment that will allow children to learn and socialize with their peers. https://t.co/YB024ugJo4 #NSBackToSchool2021
Grade 7&8 students created 215 hearts to symbolize and honour the 215 Indigenous children who never returned home from former Kamloops Residential School.@CCRCE_NS
4B engaged in remembering the Indigenous children lost in Kamploops, BC. A rock painted for each child and connections being made to Indigenous knowledge.
Congrats to Shane Pitts, Vice-Principal at New Glasgow Academy, on being an Education Week Award Recipient #NSEdWeek21
Shane represents the theme of well-being in all that he does. He works hard as an administrator to help support all students by creating a restorative school.
NGA staff and students are rocking virtual learning. Tons of creativity in lessons and lots of enthusiasm in students. Also love that many parents/guardians get a glimpse of what our school does every day. @CCRCE_NS
Our Grade 8s participated in an Academic Decathlon - ELA and Math challenges, social justice sidewalk art, cookie bake-offs and spaghetti structures showed off how being “smart” and “successful” can look differently for different students. We all have our strengths! @CCRCE_NS
Our 5TM class visiting the Viola Desmond art installation at the site of the old Roseland Theatre. Former Town Councillor Henderson Paris is pictured here talking about the different panels and what they represent in the history of Viola’s life and work. @CCRCE_NS
Mrs. Robertson’s 2/3R class learned about the Vale Quilters, a group that was formed in 2007. Myla Borden from @NNEC_Gryphons donated the quilt for the week to help them learn about the patterns and designs! @CCRCE_NS
