ابراهیم روستانیا، در جریان اعتراضات ۱۹ دی‌ماه در محدوده ۴۵ متری گلشهر کرج هدف تیراندازی قرار گرفت و پس از ۶۵ روز بستری در نهایت جان خود را از دست داد. او ۵۹ ساله و فروشنده لوازم ورزشی در کرج بود.
بر اساس گزارش‌ها، وی برای کمک به دیگران وارد محل اعتراضات گلشهر شد. اما در میان شلوغی چند گلوله به پهلو و گردن‌اش اصابت کرد. بعد از آن در بیمارستان تحت چندین عمل جراحی قرار گرفت. اما در پی جراحات گسترده، دچار سکته مغزی شد که به فلج شدن نیمی از بدن و از دست دادن توانایی تکلم و بلع انجامید.
روستانیا طی ۶۵ روز بستری با وضعیت جسمی ناپایدار و عوارض شدید دست‌وپنجه نرم کرد و سرانجام روز دوشنبه سوم فروردین ۱۴۰۵، بر اثر عفونت ریه درگذشت.
