@NBColympics@Olympics Please, please, please immediately stop using the drones until you can figure out how to do them silently. The sound is extremely distracting and ruins the sound of the snow and ice. I almost don't want to watch these events anymore because of it.
The sun rose where I am. I spent the night not sleeping in my hotel room. It was dark and slow and lonely.
I had thought if it happened it wouldn’t be as hard as last time. Because it would be less of a shock. But it was harder, actually, and for the same reason. No one went into this naively. This was chosen.
But now my people are checking in with me, and vice versa. The sun is up. I already feel less alone.
This is me checking in with you: you’re not alone and you’re NOT wrong. This is going to feel bad. It’s going to BE bad. But the sun rose. You deserve its warmth, every day, and we are already closer to a future in which this will be the fucked up past.
Take care of one another and yourself. See you tonight if that’s helpful to you.
If they can provide solid answers to those, I'm all about it.
If it passes without a better plan for those, I'll hold my breath and hope for the best. 🤞
How you gonna make transit better so people don't have to park?
What's it gonna look like without the fantasy park that no one's gonna pay for?
How you gonna protect the character of the Crossroads and existing businesses that will remain there?
Are you taxing the right people?
I want a downtown Royals stadium so badly (even/especially in the Crossroads), and I still kinda hope the ballot measure fails next week because I think they need a better plan first.
CEOs were paid, on average, about 21 times as much as a typical worker in 1965
today, they’re compensated over 344 times as much - over 1000% more than they used to be
they take over 1000% more than was formerly normal and acceptable to the average worker
sit with that
When news organizations are churning out daily stories about foreign conflicts, at the top of every article they really should include a link to a 500 word primer on the historical context leading up to the current situation.
I'm a relatively educated person, but if I want to understand what any of the news about most foreign conflicts actually MEANS, I have to spend an hour or two researching the history and putting together my own little historical summary.
