Lt. j.g. Nelyavier Meletiche serves as a physician assistant aboard NMRTC Cherry Point, having previously served as an enlisted hospital corpsman and surgical technologist.
“Start now. Be the person you aspire to become,” said Meletiche, a Madison, Wisconsin, native. “Many people speak about their dreams, but very few take the initiative to ensure they become a reality.”

Williams recently graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University, earning a Master of Arts in Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness.
Williams serves aboard the clinic as they Anti-Terrorism / Force Protection Officer.

Halyburton was killed May 10, 1945 on Okinawa Shima in the Ryukyu Chain. He was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions that day.

Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Cherry Point celebrated the dedication and spirit of nursing Wednesday May 6, 2026 with a “Blessing of the Hands” ceremony.
Led by Navy Chaplain Lieutenant Bruno and Father Ignatius Madamere, the ceremony served as an opening to National Nurses Week aboard the clinic, which runs from Wednesday, May 6 to Tuesday May 12.
