Today in 1775, New Hampshire patriots gathered at the mansion of colonial Gov. John Wentworth, demanding the head of a loyalist militia officer who opposed freedom.

Wentworth & his family fled to Fort William & Mary, before abandoning NH two months later.

We were ungovernable.

This seems to be largely a policy choice. AEI looks at other factors and says policy is the best explanation for Utah's #1 spot.

People ask why national narratives become so prevalent in political discourse.

Part of the reason is the breakdown in local newspapers. If you add up the circulation of the dailies in the top 10 papers in the state, it's ~20% of the registered voters in the state.
