I believe it’s time for genuine Labour supporters and everyone who values democracy to come together for a peaceful show of solidarity with Sir Keir Starmer.
He delivered a historic landslide victory less than two years ago, and we cannot allow coordinated media attacks and destabilisation attempts to undermine a democratically elected Prime Minister.
Let’s stand up for stability, democracy, and the mandate the British people gave Labour.

@Hepworthclare Labour lost FOUR General Elections in 14 years. It wasn't by chance that they won in '24; it was because the electorate liked what they saw in SKS. & despite a very hostile MSM, he has, within 2 years, achieved or is on track with 2/3 of manifesto pledges. https://t.co/TOoWbUGbza
John McDonnell and his crew would rather be in opposition, permanently angry and bitter. They certainly never want a Labour Gov to succeed. They must not be allowed to turf Keir Starmer out of No 10.
Please stand firm @Keir_Starmer your support amongst members on social media is heartwarming. I am so angry that some are so determined to destroy the Party. Burnham can just back off & Streeting can slither back under his rock.
@TallyCat8@kennygfrederick@Peston If Burnham is hell bent to wreck the Lab party, then as lifelong Lab supporter/member want Keir Starmer to ignore the fall out & enter into leadership contest, let members decide, when they hear both men present their vision & are cross examined we know the outcome @Keir_Starmer
Message to 2024 Labour intake MPs:
Be bloody grateful Keir Starmer secured you a good job. Show your gratitude. Do a good job for your constituents who voted you in on his mandate. Which is being completed in record time.
Backstab at your peril.
If Labour launches into a bitter leadership contest the blame will not lie with Keir Starmer.
It will lie with Burnham, Powell, Corbyn, McDonnell and the SCG and dozens of Labour newbies only there on the back of Starmer’s hard work.
Sadly, I disagree with you entirely on this Liz.
Burnham and 'chums' have been planning this for a long time. They are the ones causing chaos. Make no mistake, it is a power grab by the left of the party. They would not get elected under their own steam as the Eurosceptic Corbyn proved, twice, and have chosen nefarious and opportunistic means to effect their ends.
This didn't happen overnight either, and purely as a result of some poor midterm election results. @joshsimonsmp didn't just give up his seat without plenty of forethought.
No, it was Machiavellian, long in the pipeline and, therefore, always going to be horribly messy.
Even if Starmer did step back, which I hope he doesn't, the moderates in the party will not simply roll over and accept Burnham's 'coronation'. Personally, I despise Burnham's underhand tactics and that makes him untrustworthy in my opinion, I suspect many Labour MP's do too.
In that event, other candidates will likely enter the fray, Darren Jones for example.
Starmer won a mandate, he is doing very well despite the MSM's reluctance to report on it, and I think he has the right to see it through - not least his considered efforts to pull us back closer to the EU whilst Burnham was vacillating on the subject during his campaign.
After all, it's only been two years, and after fourteen terrible years of the Tories.
Tell me, Liz, do you support Burnham yourself or simply not wish to see the party implode on itself?
Interested.
@UKLabour
So snap YouGov poll says ONLY 23% think Burnham would be a better leader
You absolute charlatans trying to do this to Starmer
Corbynite attempt at coup
And because they are utterly unelectable before Starmer they will fail, as per
Stand by Starmer @LBC@SkyNews
A banned company director who spent £300,000 of Covid support on family holidays, private school fees, and other personal spending has been jailed.
Remember how Rishi Sunak decided not to go after these crooks?
'Set out a timeline for his departure'?
How about 'if & when we lose the next GE'?
(And if you don't like it you can set a timeline for your own departure)
This is why so very many members are so cross. We should be focusing on 2029 and getting the manifesto ticked off so that the electorate can see and feel better. This Burnham drama is nonsense. And those supporting him are questionable.
For goodness sake. @UKLabour now emailing requesting donations to fight the mayoralty in GM. Send @AndyBurnhamGM the bill. I’m saving my donations to support @Keir_Starmer
If Burnham puts country first he would be advised to get behind and support our Prime Minister and suspend his leadership bid until the run up to the next General Election by which time Sir Keir may have had enough of all the undeserved flack he has had from the right wing media.
Why Should Keir Starmer
RESIGN
This is a POLITICAL SCANDAL Totally unnecessary BY-ELECTION
We can't let Burnham just walk into Leadership role just because a LITTLE KNOWN part of the Country Makerfield want him
KEIR STARMER WAS VOTED IN TO POWER to be our Primeminster we should let him stay
@NeilForPoole You are so wrong . The very last thing the country (remember the country) needs is 3 more months of Labour factionalism .You MPs have lost your minds and Im furious with the lot of you and deternined to vote for Keir .Theres thousands like me
