“I’m disappointed but not at all surprised! They’ve [#BMA] done a very good job splitting the union and alienating our international colleagues, which ultimately undermines any improvement of our working conditions. Exhausting."

The proposal represents a direct challenge to the founding principle of the National Health Service: healthcare free at the point of use and based on clinical need rather than ability to pay.

Resident doctors should vote NO in an emphatic rejection of this sellout. But they must also demand the removal of #Fletcher and the #RDC executive and establish rank-and-file control over the struggle going forward.

The report also confronts the phenomenon of “corridor care”—patients treated in undignified and unsafe settings. In addition to treatment in corridors this includes even toilets and cupboards, as recorded elsewhere.

Resident #doctors cannot be led down another cycle of isolated strikes and backroom negotiations. A new strategy is required, based on independent rank-and-file committees, democratically controlled and free from the bureaucracy.

Oppose the political persecution of Dr. Ranjeet Brar & all health workers!

An Open Letter by a resident doctor on the way forward to defend the NHS against the Starmer govt
"Our six-day strike demonstrated the scale of anger that exists. We need to break out of the control of the BMA bureaucracy and turn towards our colleagues." https://t.co/pj4rVDwbJd
The #Guardian devotes it pages to union bureaucrats whose chief complaint is that the continued strike action by resident #doctors is making it more difficult to enforce another year of real-term pay cuts.

“The #LabourParty, supposedly the party of the #NHS, are in power so what are they doing to increase capacity? Nothing. What are they doing to make life easier for the staff? Nothing."

Trump said: "An entire civilization will die tonight." We declare our solidarity with the people of Iran. The working class of the world must oppose this monstrous crime. It must be stopped.
Sophie: I will be striking next week as part of our long running struggle for improved pay, training jobs, and working conditions... Above all, I’m striking in defence of patients, staff and the #NHS itself.

Dr. Rahmeh #Aladwan has been targeted relentlessly by #Zionistlobby groups and the #British state, based on groundless claims that her opposition to Zionism and pro-#Palestinian activism pose a risk to patient safety.

Resident #doctors to strike, #Starmer threatens—Time for a unified fightback to defend the #NHS!
The conduct of the dispute must be placed under the democratic control of the rank-and-file, ending all closed-door negotiations with the #Labour government

On Saturday, I was barred from addressing a No Kings rally in Nürnberg, Germany. The organizers had said there would be an open mike. I had identified myself as WSWS editor, and was told that I would be allowed to speak. But after waiting for nearly an hour, I was surrounded by Democratic Party goons. They would not allow me to speak and condemn the illegal war against Iran, which the Democrats support.
The Medical Training (Prioritisation) Act, which favours UK medical graduates over International Medical Graduates (IMGs) for jobs, is now law. The BMA Resident Doctors’ Committee (RDC) welcomed the legislation with open arms, pretending this somehow “solves” the NHS crisis. 1/10
This is part of a right-wing, anti‑migrant offensive: scapegoating migrants to distract from a ruling class that starves public services, demands higher productivity and drives privatisation. The union bureaucracy’s collusion with this agenda is indefensible.
