Our head of chaplaincy Linda Peall retires today after five years at ESNEFT and a 20-year NHS career, to spend more time with her family, take in theatre trips to London, and photograph local wildlife and nature, as part of her pastime as an amateur naturalist.
Good luck Linda!
Ipswich Hospital radiographer Jemma inspired a new book about Allied Health Professionals for primary school children, promoting roles such as her own.
Jemma’s son Reggie and his school friends were treated to the first read of the book.

I was fortunate to be at the opening of Aldeburgh Hospital‘s brand-new, state-of-the-art x-ray machine. The facility negates local residents needing an X-ray from having to travel all the way to Ipswich Hospital.
I filmed a short video, below

Today we’re saying hello to the first babies born in 2024 in our hospitals 🏥
Keylie celebrated her 20th birthday by giving birth to her very own New Year’s Day baby, Theo, at 12.45pm at #IpswichHospital 💙
They’re pictured here with midwife Megan & student midwife Lauren 🧵
And at #ColchesterHospital baby Ocean was born at 8.29am. She’s pictured here with proud dad Grant.
So far we’ve welcomed 3 babies at Ipswich & 5 at Colchester.
Congratulations from us all & thank you to our maternity teams too, as well as all our staff who are working today 🫶
A great end of year meeting with the Dietetic team in Ipswich @Team_ESNEFT. Really inspiring to hear all about their fabulous work this year including the value of AP and apprentice posts, service developments across the service, training to care homes & more! What awesomeAHPs!
Enjoyed making this video about the new, improved new x-ray machine at Aldeburgh Hospital.
It’s arrival has been made possible thanks, in no small part, to a donation from the League of Friends of Aldeburgh Hospital. https://t.co/dGunmb5hLe
