Socialist Health Association ballots for national elections arrive TODAY!
Vote for #SupportForNHS candidates for a progressive SHA committed to a Keir Starmer led Labour government 🌹
🗳@katrinamurray71 - Chair
🗳 Hardiman-Smith - Secretary
🗳@martinibrooks - Treasurer
BREAKING: Nursing union @theRCN is setting up a £35m industrial action fund ready to strike if necessary over the government’s 1% pay rise for nurses.
This is becoming an increasingly bitter row.
Senior NHS figures are baffled by what they see as a political car crash of the budget and the release of the pay proposal the next day. Demoralising staff and setting big problems. But as the YouGov poll last night showed - the government are getting away with it...for now
The Socialist Health Association is electing its officers and national delegates in the coming days.
The #SupportForNHS candidates are standing for a progressive & inclusive SHA & for a strong voice to protect the NHS. Please support them! 🌹
The Socialist Health Association is affiliated to the Labour Party and members will be receiving ballots for national elections in the coming days.
I’ll be voting for the #SupportForNHS candidates for a progressive & inclusive SHA & for a strong voice to protect the NHS.
The opening of this new vaccination centre in Watford Asda was a great moment.
Supermarkets and other businesses are really stepping up to support the vaccine effort. I want to see as many as possible working with the NHS to support this roll-out.
So irresponsible. You can’t protect the economy during a pandemic unless you protect public health.
The Chancellor's failure to understand this is one reason why the UK has had the worst recession of any major economy and the worst Covid death toll in Europe.
£22 billion on a test and trace system that isn’t delivering, £150 million on face masks that can’t be used, now over a billion pounds on tests that aren’t reliable.
Staggering mismanagement of taxpayer money again and again from this Government.

This is incredibly worrying.
Ministers knowingly left borders open in direct contradiction of expert advice, potentially exposing people to mutations of the virus and putting the gains of the vaccine at risk. Appalling.
We owe it to those who lost their lives and their loved ones to learn lessons from the pandemic.
That's why Labour is calling for a rapid review so this government learns urgent lessons and protects lives.
Discussing more on @RidgeOnSunday and #Marr.

NEW: News of the the other, much darker side of the UK Covid story comes in. Another 587 deaths.
Always lower at weekends but still nearly another 600 dead. 7day average down by 5%.
We lamented 100,000 deaths earlier in the week. Only days later we’re already at 106,158.
Vaccine numbers yesterday impressive.
🏴 549,943
🏴 25,299
🏴 23,055
When NI figures are included it won’t be too far away from 1% of the UK population receiving a vaccine dose in a single day.
NHS playing a blinder in distribution, as VTF has done in purchase.
.@MayorofLondon’s health advisor Dr Tom Coffey and I have written to the JCVI urging them to use flexibility in their guidance to ensure rough sleepers are prioritised for vaccination.
We have a window of opportunity to vaccinate rough sleepers we have accommodated in hotels.
Getting Britain vaccinated is our best hope of getting out of this crisis. We all need to pull together to beat the virus.
The vaccine is safe and it works.
This is a brilliant initiative from Black MPs from across political parties. Please share.

NHS bosses have criticised private hospitals and doctors in London for continuing to perform non-urgent operations despite the “unthinkable pressures” caused by the pandemic https://t.co/Iwp6Ac0VUO
