Well, since she didn't live with her mother, after being taken from the home at age 12, the mother is talking about that in particular because she stood with the rapist, not with her own daughter. After that the mother has no idea whether Amy lies about anything else. But we do know that Amy didn't lie about the rape and abuse that she and her brother endured.
