Yesterday, Museveni unveiled his 2026 cabinet list — and with it came a brutal political reminder to Uganda: despite all the noise about succession, power struggles, and the growing influence of Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the old man is still firmly in charge.
The appointments exposed what many are now calling a quiet but unmistakable power showdown inside the regime. For weeks, Muhoozi’s camp had been chest-thumping online, with his loyalists hinting that certain ministers were finished politically and would never return to cabinet. But Museveni responded the only way he knows best by reminding everyone who still controls the system.
In a move widely seen as a direct signal to Muhoozi’s camp, Museveni retained figures like Chris Baryomunsi, despite claims from Muhoozi that they were politically doomed. The message could not have been clearer: social media influence is not state power, and cabinet decisions are still made by Museveni alone.
At the same time, David Kabanda one of the loudest and most visible figures orbiting the Muhoozi project was completely frozen out. In recent months, Kabanda had been aggressively marketed by Muhoozi supporters as a rising political heavyweight and future national figure. But when the real decisions were made, he was nowhere to be seen. For many observers, his omission was not just a snub; it was a humiliation.
Former Speaker Annet Anita Among also emerged battered from the reshuffle. After being pushed out of the Speakership race under Museveni’s watch, there had been speculation that she would at least receive a powerful ministerial role as compensation. Instead, Museveni left her out entirely, fueling the perception that even some of the regime’s most powerful insiders are now politically expendable once they outlive their usefulness.
Then came perhaps the most embarrassing political fall of all: Yusuf Nsibambi. After dramatically crossing from the opposition FDC to Museveni’s NRM, many assumed he expected rewards and full acceptance into the ruling establishment. Instead, he was ignored completely. The reaction online was merciless, with many Ugandans mocking him for sacrificing his opposition credentials only to end up empty-handed.
In the end, Museveni’s cabinet list did more than announce ministers. It exposed the winners and losers inside Uganda’s ruling establishment. And while some were celebrating appointments, others were left politically wounded.
If this reshuffle proved anything, it is that Museveni is still the undisputed center of power and that Kabanda, Anitah Among, and Nsibambi just learned that lesson the hard way.

I have just learnt that Walter Rodney, the person who wrote this book, ' How Europe Underdeveloped Africa' was killed in Georgetown on the 13th of June 1980, by an explosive communication device he was given by a sergeant in the Guyana Defence Force and a member of the House of Israel named Gregory Smith.
He had just returned from celebrations of independence in Zimbabwe during a time of intense political activism.
That brief history is why I am interested in reading this book.
I want to know what Rodney penned that led to his assassination.
Can you imagine this level of abuse of office? It now turns out that Anita Among spent 532 million shillings of our tax payers' money to fence and purchase compound lights for her private home in Bukedea District! (For context, Bukedea is one of the poorest districts in Uganda.)
It also turns out that Anita Among and her deputy Tayebwa spent another 591 million shillings to purchase two generators for their private homes!
Very sadly, while this plunder was going on, the leaders we sent to check and stop it were bribed into silence and joined the looters!
This madness will only come to an end when WE THE PEOPLE rise to the occasion and put an end to the Museveni dictatorship!

SHIB WHALE CASHES OUT AGAIN AS PROFITS CROSS $660M
An OG whale who bought 103.33 trillion $SHIB for just $13,760 has sold another 800 billion SHIB worth $4.9M today, according to lookonchain.
The wallet originally held 16.84% of SHIB's total supply.
Over the last few years, the whale sold 4.06 trillion SHIB for $37.6M total. It still holds 99.27 trillion SHIB valued at $625.41M.
Total profit now exceeds $660M, a return of 48,000x on the original investment, per lookonchain.
Gov’t keeps giving out tax payers’ money to private companies, to the benefit of the individual owners and not the citizens;
*Inspire Africa coffee factory in Ntungamo-180 billion shs.
*DEI Biopharma-724 billion.
*Atiak sugar factory-668 billion.
*Roko-263 billion.
In the proposed budget FY 2026/2027, Gov’t plans to add these entities more money. If this isn’t theft, I don’t know what is!

🇨🇳NEWS: JACK DORSEY'S BITCHAT REMOVED FROM CHINESE APP STORE
Beijing's Cyberspace Administration forced Apple to remove Bitchat from its China App Store, citing violations of rules governing apps with "social mobilization" capabilities.
Unlike standard messaging apps, Bitchat runs entirely over Bluetooth and mesh networks with zero internet dependency, making it structurally immune to China's surveillance infrastructure.
The app has been used by protesters in Iran, Nepal, Madagascar, Uganda, and Indonesia during government-imposed connectivity blackouts.
[Important Notice] Tokenomics Update: Restructuring Ecosystem Emissions
We are replacing the monthly Ecosystem unlock with a staking-only emission model, significantly reducing the amount of $ASTER entering circulation each month.
Previously, 78.4M $ASTER (~1% of max supply) was unlocked monthly on a linear schedule. This mechanism has now been replaced: Ecosystem tokens will only be released as staking rewards, currently at a rate of 450K $ASTER per epoch (weekly), equivalent to 1.8M–2.25M $ASTER per month.
For reference, all Ecosystem & Community tokens unlocked since TGE (Sep 17, 2025) have remained untouched beyond staking rewards. Token holdings can be verified at the public unlock address (0x0A55c740703A11f42803fB1a05ca1F7F89981EA4).
Emission parameters and allocation details are documented on our Staking and Tokenomics pages. Bookmark them to stay up to date!
