The look of pure bewilderment on his face certainly didn't budge, whatever she was saying, it made very little sense to the likes of him.
"Not sure if my ship is one you'd be too keen on boarding. No. You're too... fancy lookin'."
A shake of the head followed.
"Novigrad does >
"Cylvarin. My name's Cylvarin."
He seemingly relaxed, for a time, though that was quickly shattered when cogs in his mind actually worked.
He hadn't mentioned the ship, and his tone reflected his newfound confusion.
"Ship captain and... Merchant. Did you already know that?-"
Cylvarin almost matched that smirk, almost. "Okay, so no plague, perfect-"
His smirk vanished as quickly as it had arrived, catching sight of those inhuman fangs that had been flashed his way.
"Uh- not that I thought you had such a thing, of course."
Her words were, at least initially, met with little more than a shrug. Though a moment later the sailor gave a bow, one clearly meant more as a joke than any kind of formality.

Sure enough, he knew, but it took Cylvarin long enough to actually recall it.
"Yennifer of Vengerberg, huh, I thought you were a myth at best."
He gave a polite enough greeting, or at least as polite of one as a sailor could.
"Me? Trouble? No no no... Not at all, I swear it. Whatever could have you concerned I'd disturb the harmony you have here in Toussaint?"
As the man greeted the Duchess, she let her lips curve into a small, politely measured smile.
"You certainly know how much I cherish peace, and how Toussaint is a haven of it. I do hope you’re not here to disturb that harmony."

"Awfully pale, aren't you? You sick?"
Even with such a question, Cylvarin's tone remained friendly enough.
"Then again, could just be all the black clothing making you -look- pale as a ghost."

"The empress huh..? What kind o' shit did I step in to end up in this sort o' trouble?"
Cue an ever so slight chuckle from Cylvarin.
"Captain Cylvarin Aep Lwylchlall, what do you need?"
