The internet has quietly become the biggest equalizer for smart people from poor backgrounds.
The sad part?
Many young people still spend more time arguing online than learning one profitable digital skill. 🧵
Happy New Month.
As others celebrate, many families are still waiting for the return of their children and teachers.
We stand with them. We remember them. We will keep speaking up.

K!dnappers are now in Surulere oh !
I thought it was only Ikorodu / Ibeju Lekki
Man narrates how his neighbor was kidnapped in Surulere , Lagos .
My friend was k!dnapped in Nigeria when he came visiting with his British wife, who was pregnant with their first child.
One evening, they stepped out to buy food when a vehicle suddenly blocked their car. The men who emerged were dressed in military uniforms and ordered them to come down. Believing they were genuine security officers, they obeyed.
It wasn’t until later that they realized they had been kidnapped.
For nearly two weeks, they were held captive. He told me that what he saw there still haunts him to this day. Dead bodies. Human remains. Horrific scenes no human being should ever witness. The experience was so traumatic that his wife developed severe PTSD and health complications after their release.
Eventually, a ransom was paid and they regained their freedom. But freedom did not erase the damage.
Their daughter was later born, but shortly afterward, his wife passed away. According to him, she never truly recovered from the trauma of the ordeal.
Today, more than a decade later, he has still not returned to Nigeria. He maintains some investments in the country, but the memories are too painful. Every news report about kidnapping and insecurity reminds him of the day his life changed forever.
He is now raising their daughter alone and telling her stories about the mother she never got the chance to know.
When people talk about insecurity, they often focus on statistics.
But behind every statistic is a family that may never be the same again.
Insecurity is not just a headline. For some families, it is a life sentence.
