@Jenny_1884 There are many costs to running a care home. Wages are 50% of the costs. Home is staffed 24/7 by a variety of roles, nurses will be the biggest cost . Then you have to heat the home , provide a wide variety of food that resident require or want. The building has to be maintained
@AldiUK bring back the Black forest fruit mix for your next October fest. Ideally it should be instore AYR. It's the best thing for chocolate Porridge and my overnight oats. I was gutted to finish the bag today. If there is some in a warehouse, happy to take them off your hands.
@RealHughJackman OK definitely looking forward to Song Sung Blue but the Sheep Detectives just from the trailer is trumping it. Its too long to May though
A man and his girlfriend die in a car accident and meet Peter at the Pearly Gates.
Peter says, "Welcome to Heaven. Do you have any questions?"
The man replies, "Yes, my girlfriend and I never had the chance to get married while we were alive. Can we get married in Heaven?"
Peter says, "That's a good question. I’ll get back to you with an answer."
So the couple waits... and waits...
Six weeks later, Peter returns and says,
"OK, good news! Yes, you can get married in Heaven. Come right in and enjoy eternity together."
The couple then asks,
"One more thing. Eternity is a long time... if things don’t work out, can we get a divorce in Heaven?"
Peter throws up his hands and says,
"Christ! It took me six weeks to find a priest up here — do you have any idea how long it’ll take me to find a lawyer?!" 😂👼💍⚖️
@irishacw This is fascinating. My relative who came from ireland ended up in civil war which left visible and invisible injuries, leading him to commit suicide in 1882. How could I track his pension. He left a daughter and his Irish family had emigrated to Australia in 1850

@jackdraper0 Thanks for an amazin time with @TennisPodcast . It was great to hear your take on the tennis world. It was fascinating to hear from a player who is dealing with scheduling & trying to maintain work life balance, which we all struggle with. All the best for 2026.
Had a fabulous time at @EricIdle last night in Glasgow. A night full of brilliant stories making you laugh till it hurt. I am so glad my dad introduced me to Monty Python in my childhood.
@CostaCoffee
I bought a gift card 4 my mum in Glasgow. I posted it to my mum in Newry, NI. Yesterday it wouldn't work as it Costa GB, it won't work cos Costa in NI, is Costa Ireland. My mum was embarrassed & has a useless gift card . Why can't she use it? This seems unfair.
A year ago, I became the UK’s youngest councillor at 18. It still feels surreal to say that. I ran because I wanted to make a difference because I believed that young people deserve a seat at the table where decisions about our futures are made.
But what I’ve learned over this year goes far beyond politics. This has been one of the toughest, most eye-opening experiences of my life.
Being young in this space is hard. People question your ability before you even speak. They assume you’re inexperienced, naïve, or just a token. Add to that being a young woman, and it gets harder.
I’ve sat in rooms where I wasn’t taken seriously, where I’ve been interrupted, talked over, or patronised. I’ve dealt with inappropriate comments, unwanted attention, and had my competence judged on appearance rather than action. There have been moments that left me shaken, angry, and wondering if I truly belonged.
And yet I’ve stayed. I’ve held my ground. I’ve reminded myself again and again: you earned your place. I didn’t come here to be liked. I came to fight for my community, to represent the people who put their trust in me, and to show other young women that you can step into spaces that weren’t built for you and own them.
Politics needs more young voices, more women, more fire. It needs people willing to push through discomfort and challenge the status quo.
To the girls watching and wondering if they’ll be taken seriously: the path isn’t easy but it’s worth it. Keep going. You’re not alone.
This year taught me resilience. It taught me patience. It taught me power doesn’t always shout—sometimes, it stands quietly, knowing its worth.
Here’s the absolutely lunatic thing.. if a dirty old man jumps out from behind a tree & exposes himself to a young girl he’s charged with a crime. If that same man says he’s a woman & does exactly the same thing in a womens changing room where girls are getting undressed that same man is stunning & brave! It does not make any sense. How do we women know the bad ones? Because the bad one will take advantage of ridiculous bad rules. Those running changing rooms are too scared to stop them. And if you don’t think bad men will, you are a prize idiot!
Here it is!!! The long awaited next ad from xx-xy athletics. This is beautiful and touching I loved it! @JenniferSey is brilliant writing these teeny tiny movies.
