.@DrumthwacketNJ is lit up yellow tonight in honor of Holocaust Remembrance Day.
As we remember the six million Jewish people and countless others murdered in the Holocaust, it is our responsibility to stand up to antisemitism and hate in our communities today.
The more we listen to personal stories, the more we understand. Honored to sit down with Holocaust survivor Maud Dahme. Her words touched our hearts and inspire us to continue our ongoing fight against bias and hate.
We urgently need an agreement to bring home every remaining hostage, including New Jerseyan Edan Alexander, as well as to stop the heartbreaking suffering of innocent civilians across the region by ending the war.
We are also keeping the family of Carmel Gat in our prayers. I had the honor of meeting Carmel’s brother, Or, earlier this summer at the State House at a meeting with family members of the hostages.
Hersh Goldberg-Polin was an American who was taken hostage and killed by Hamas terrorists.
We are praying for his parents, Jon and Rachel, and his loved ones during this difficult time. May his memory be a blessing.
This week, we are starting our Holocaust Book & Film series. We will be highlighting the various texts which educate us about human experiences during the Holocaust. The featured books include Night by Elie Wiesel, Number the Stars by Lois Lowry, and more!

On #InternationalHolocaustRemembranceDay, we honor the memory of the 6 million Jews and countless others murdered by the Nazis.
With so few Survivors today, we must ensure the truth is told which is why I signed legislation last year to improve Holocaust and genocide education.
Today, we are also thinking of the victims of October 7—the worst atrocity committed against the Jewish people in a single day since the Holocaust.
We continue to pray for the victims' families and for the safe return of every remaining hostage, including Edan Alexander from NJ.

@NJHolocaustComm condemns the terrorist attack on the citizens of Israel & stands with their right to peacefully exist. This barbarism is a painful reminder of the importance of Holocaust education; remembering the horrors of the past underscores the need for global peace.

On April 19, 1943, 2,000 Germans entered the ghetto to liquidate it. Hundreds of Jews rose up; exhausted and poorly armed and knowing they stood no chance against the Germans, they chose to die fighting. #WarsawGhettoUprising#POLINMuseum#NeverAgain#GenocideAwarenessMonth
