I just took a look at Gehrig’s numbers, and they are amazing. In a 154 game season he had 185 RBIs one year, and more than 170 two other years. Nearly 2,000 in his shortened career. Along with a high on base percentage, and always near the league top in home runs, he was a run producing machine. A small edge over Joe D, Yogi and the Mick.
