A Black man tried to vote in Florida, so they erased his entire town.

Ocoee, Election Day, 1920. Mose Norman showed up to the polls and was turned away. That night, mobs attacked the Black side of town. July Perry was lynched.

Homes and churches burned. Ocoee's Black community fled — and the town stayed essentially all-white for decades.
