@neha_basic It's wild how people blindly believe someone who they've never seen to make them take medications for their sickness. No pharmacy asks for a prescription these days, even for high risk drugs. And here we are, trusting hidden voices as doctors for what? 'no consultantation fee?'
@Chulbulpanda420 This isn't an anti establishment sentiment, neither is a curious hunt. This is simply a mass reflection of inner frustration. To be good at anything you do, it requires consistent efforts to remain disciplined. And it's rare. Rubbishing anonymously is cheap dopamine . It's easy.
@ManikaParihar I see two possibilities.
1. The flag bearers of this branch are influencing through social media. In this showbiz, the core and depth of the subject is diluted.
2. Yet, as the majority cannot avail derma at their ranks, this fuels the generic rage.
@aboyobbhuyan Crazy how external beautification is considered 'reinventing' whereas people have to be stuck in hour-long traffic to be able to enjoy these gimmicks. This is like organising a swimming competition in a lake full of toxic mud.
And you're the same person who goes to that doctor for the least fee and cry loud later saying he's incompetent. There's a price for the experience, for the skills acquired by grinding over years and years of practice and specialisation.
@mutant1643 0.8g/kg BW is the RDA - minimal population-level recommendation to avoid deficiency, it is not equal to an optimal intake for every individual or every outcome(eg: muscle mass, athletic adaptation). RDA is a floor, not necessarily optimal for older adults or athletes.
The classic pattern of Predators is always to prey on the weakling. A flight crashes - hold pilots accountable, baby dies in NICU d/t shit management - hold nurses accountable. Bridge collapses - hold the engineers accountable. Story over. Case closed.

Unbelievable!๐ฑ๐
Health ministry advisory asking hospitals/clinics/doctors to procure products made under Good Manufacturing Practices, using safe ingredients
Really?!
How are they supposed to do that?
Isn't that the job of drug regulator, to ensure all drugs in market are safe?
The price of Glycerine (or propylene Glycol) in India is Rs. 998/- per Kg
whereas
DEG (Diethylene Glycol) is available at Rs 110/- per Kg on India
#DEG is 9 times CHEAPER than Glycerine.
In pharmacy, glycerol is used as an excipient in various medications, acting as a sweetener, solvent, and humectant to improve taste, texture, and moisture in products like cough syrups and ointments.
whereas
Diethylene glycol (DEG) is used in the automobile industry primarily as a component of engine coolants and brake fluids. It also acts as a chemical intermediate in manufacturing resins and plasticizers used to make various automotive parts.
Engine coolants and antifreeze fluids.
DEG, cheaper than pharmaceutical grade glycerin (or PG), is the most common adulterant for these as it is similarly colourless, odourless, sweet and viscous.
DEG finds its way into liquid medicines such as cough syrups, intentionally or accidentally, via pharma companies' supply chains.
Ingesting DEG can cause acute kidney failure that can cause permanent disability or death. It is especially deadly for children as even small amounts can prove fatal.
DEG poisoning epidemics continue rampantly in India.
Over a hundred deaths from diethylene glycol (DEG) in the US in 1937 led to the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act that requires manufacturers to demonstrate the safety of their products before selling them.
US hasn't recorded a single DEG death since then.
In contrast, India has had hundreds of children dying from DEG poisoning in the 1990s and scores of child deaths in J&K and Himachal in 2019 and 2020.
DEG deaths have surfaced again this time in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan claiming lives of around 15 children with several more in a serious condition, fighting for their lives.
What happened to the makers of the contaminated cough syrup in earlier cases is indicative of why deaths from DEG re-occur : Five years after the 2019-20 DEG poisoning, owners of the company Digital Vision Pharma based in Himachal are out on bail while the case drags on.
In every instance of DEG contamination in India, the sequence of events is depressingly similar.
To worsen matters, authorities' first reaction is to deny contamination or violation of manufacturing protocols.
They hastily declare samples they tested were safe, thereby delaying action that could save more lives. A few Thousand Rupees in Bribe to the authorities does the trick.
Moreover, in every case, within a short while of a much-delayed chargesheet, closure of the factory site and arrest of the makers, bail is granted and the company is allowed to restart operations while the case drags on.
The same sequence of events seems to be unfolding in Madhya Pradesh too. The first cases were reported late Aug. It took two weeks for authorities to wake up.
QHad authorities reacted promptly, lives of at least seven to eight other children could have been saved.
State authorities and even Centre nearly dismissed the matter claiming samples tested weren't contaminated.
But once Tamil Nadu went public with its test report confirming presence of DEG in the cough syrup.
Even after WHO held Indian Manufacturers responsible for deaths of children from contaminated cough syrup in Gambia and Uzbekistan in 2022, the #ModiGovt continued to deny it.
By June 2023, Centre announced cough syrups for export would be tested at govt-approved laboratories.
Surprisingly, there was no such directive for those supplying to the domestic market.
How many DEG deaths in India will it take to prioritise the safety of Indian children above ease-of-business and reputation of the pharma sector?
The Nation Questions @narendramodi@DrMohanYadav51@CMMadhyaPradesh@healthminmp@MoHFW_INDIA@mansukhmandviya
WHY do you allow this?
Should it not be probed if the defaulting pharma companies have been given a free leash in return of donations to #BJP #PMCareFund ?
@ranjoydey@AnshulGains Imagine the doctor you're consulting for Metabolic disease, counselled you to have whole food. 10 mins later, you both exchanging smiles holding samosas in your hands in the same hospital canteen. In Indian healthcare, prevention is a hoax.
@ShashiTharoor Being in this field for 6 years now, we've either heard, saw, experienced some level of violence at our workplace almost every single day now. Healing should be the only concern of the healers, but here we are, in India 2024, crying, begging, revolting for the basic security.
Out of the world it feels when you can just pluck out fruits directly out of a living tree. Far we've come, but where are we going? Running down a time machine within our memoryline.
Had always doubted the social contribution of the 'influencers'. When the voiceless are coming out, the ones with the loudest voice, the ones earning privilege from people's consumption are silent. Dumb, ignorant, puppets of radical capitalism. #justiceformoumitadebnath
Utter nonsense. How do you heal a gunshot wound with a bloody bandaid? CPA is the least we should settle for, until then, let the roar be louder, let the halt to nationwide elective healthcare services go on. #KolkataDoctorDeath#BengalHorror#justiceformoumitadebnath
Today, at midnight, as India celebrates Independence Day, a 1000+ mob attacked RG Kar Medical College and attempted to tamper evidence and prevent justice for #Nirbhaya2
This footage not only shows the strength of the mob but also the utter mockery of law and order in Bengal!
Today, at the Rajpath, what would they celebrate Independence Day for? What bravery and progressiveness would they cry about? What with all the parades of forces, when the morals of the people are burnt alive. #KolkataDoctor#BENGAL_HORROR#WestBengalHorror#IndependenceDayIndia
@DrAditya2935 It's a shame how irrespective of who forms the government, it fails to cater to the basic needs to build a secure healthy progressive nation. Why should the sharpest of the minds, the ones with the agility to work selflessly should even think of contributing to this nation.
