When Hon. @norbertmao signed a cooperation agreement with Pres. @KagutaMuseveni, @NRMOnline members were excited but Hon. Mao faced a revolt in his own party but stood firm. When Pres. Museveni stated that there won't be opposition in 2026, NRM was still clapping. Now that there is no opposition in 2026, and Hon. Mao wants to be Speaker of Parliament, some bad apples in NRM are saying he can't. That he should go back to DP. That he is not a member of NRM. So why did Pres. Museveni sign the agreement? We need to honour it and build unto it. Let Hon. Mao submit his expression of interest to CEC/President Museveni and it should be considered and resolved at that level. But to wish it away is suicidal. I know that Pres. Museveni will do the right thing.
