This band is devoted to serving at Line of Duty firefighter funerals, memorial services, ceremonies and to foster the highest traditions of the fire service.
Well that is a wrap for Memorial Day. It has been a tough year for all of us .. nothing better than our first three parades honoring our fallen service members.
This ceremony honoring #NewLondon firefighter Lieutenant John O’Connor takes place every February 1st whether there is a snowstorm or not. The mayor who served alongside him says his death changed the way firefighting is done in the city.
20 years ago 6 members of the New London Fire Department formed our band. I don’t think any one of them could have imagined where we would be in twenty years! Move out of the way Covid! This band wants to celebrate on the street!
RI lost a great one, larger than life in stature & personality. He worked the busy years @ProvFirefighter and went on to dispatch at my first job, @westwarwickfire. I am grateful for the wisdom he shared with me as a young probie, the great stories and many laughs. Rest easy Hop

It is with a heavy heart we pass along that Retired BC Ed Murphy recently passed away. He was a staple in the community and we often got to catch up with him as he would pass by Fire Headquarters on his way to volunteer his time at Shaw’s Mansion.
