Today in Middelburg it was my privilege to join Elizabeth Roosevelt Johnston (the great-granddaughter of President Franklin D. Roosevelt) in presenting the International Four Freedoms Award to President @ZelenskyyUa of Ukraine.

He accepted the award on behalf of the Ukrainian people as a ‘recognition of the courageous fight for our freedom and democracy under exceptionally difficult circumstances’.

In Ankara, Niels Veenis, Head of Economic Affairs, met Memduh Aslan Akçay, General Manager of ASKİ. They discussed water efficiency, sustainable water management, and potential 🇳🇱🤝🇹🇷 cooperation. International knowledge exchange and collaboration remain key. 💧🌍

Türkiye & NL have strong ties. A key part of this is our economic relationship, with more than 3,000 Dutch companies operating in Türkiye and 1,500 Turkish companies in NL.

We paid a courtesy visit to His Eminence Archbishop Mor Philoxenus Yusuf Çetin, Patriarchal Vicar of the Syriac Orthodox Church. In a lively meeting various matters related to the Syriac community in TR&EU were discussed. The visit concluded with a tour of the Virgin Mary Church.
