Understanding the asthma-COPD overlap is key to better treatments. Clarus, a post-doctoral research fellow at UBC, received a $33,000 Research Fellowship in 2023 to explore the genetic mechanisms behind asthma-COPD.

Meet Justin Turner, an occupational therapist + PhD student in rehabilitation sciences at UBC. In 2022, he received a $10,000 Allied Health Research Fellowship to fund research that will improve the lung health of First Nations communities in northern B.C. during wildfire season.
