@NeilDotObrien@JohnRentoul Hard left and hard right have so much in common, although it embarrasses both sets to admit it.
Both aggressively intolerant to dissent and disagreement, cult like, ranting leaders, love their demos and flag waving (often in their ‘black shirts and masks’)..
@ArchRose90 I’ve followed Montie since he worked at The Times.
He always seemed a very liberal One Nation type of Conservative.
The type that Kemi is now deselecting.
I was very surprised when he joined Reform - it just wasn’t him.
@russellquirk@ArchRose90 That’s just politics.
The real facts are that BOTH are being investigated by the standards authorities.
Farage and his supporters don’t think he should be.
@CllrONeill The uncomfortable fact was that Arday was likely to have been investigated for criminal deception.
He gained a well paid role and book deal using carefully crafted deceptions.
He brought this tragedy upon himself and his family - as is the case with many criminal acts.
@policylaila When exactly did you resign from the Conservatives Laila?
Remind us when you applied to be a Conservative candidate?
These things do matter in terms of your personal credibility.
@GuidoFawkes I don’t know why he bothers actually joining political parties.
In the past he seemed to resign from the Conservatives every other week over policy disagreements.
Not sure he was ever a good match for Reform though!
@tomorrowsmps Has she changed her mind about the definition of a ‘woman’ yet?
If not, I suspect she’ll be off the list until she discovers some basic biological facts.
@KayBurley Did his family ever encourage him to stop his fraudulent activities intended to obtain well paid employment and book deals?
They clearly knew about his webs of deceit - how could they not?
Perhaps they too gained from his £100k+ Cambridge salary and book advance?
@PolitlcsUK I wonder how many Reform voting #Clacton residents would be losing out!
Interesting how they saved that announcement until after the by-election.
@JamesCleverly Ridiculous post @JamesCleverly!
He was as much a calculating criminal fraudster as he was a ‘vulnerable fantasist’!
Funny how his repeated deceptions involved gaining well paid jobs and book deals.
Tragic, yes - but any more tragic than other fraudsters who get found out?
