It takes away routines, friendships, familiar streets, and the small freedoms that make children and young people feel safe.

For Mohamad, 18, displacement meant leaving behind the life he knew. Emergency cash assistance helps his family meet urgent needs, but his wish remains simple: to go back home.

Through the #NDA, @mosalebofficial, @EUinLebanon, @NLinLebanon, @iloarabstates, UNICEF and other donors are supporting persons with disabilities and their families with one-off emergency cash assistance of USD 100 per eligible household.

The southern suburbs of #Beirut (often referred to as 'Dahye') housed 850,000 people until the latest war broke out in March. Now only around 10% are left. Visited the area with the Union of Municipalities to get a better idea of the actual situation. Huge destruction

👉🏽Our institute held the second progress meeting of the Stormwater Management Strategy, represented by project coordinator @rouaalfares, bringing together partners to review the work completed so far and discuss the next steps toward the development of a comprehensive strategy for more integrated, sustainable, and climate-resilient stormwater management in Lebanon.

Funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Lebanon @NLinLebanon, the project is developed in partnership with the Ministry of Energy and Water and in collaboration with @MSFEA_AUB
and @fas_aub at @AUB_Lebanon.

The meeting focused on institutional coordination, stakeholder engagement, technical inputs, and the development of practical recommendations adapted to Lebanon’s territorial and urban challenges.

استقبل رئيس مجلس الإدارة مدير عام مرفأ بيروت مروان النفّي، اليوم الأربعاء، سفير هولندا في لبنان السيد فرانك مولن، حيث جرى التأكيد على استمرارية المرفق الحيوي اللبناني في قلب الخارطة البحرية الدولية.

تخلل اللقاء نقاش حول سبل التعاون بين مرفأ بيروت ومرفأ "روتردام" الهولندي الذي يعد بوابة أوروبا التجارية الأولى. وقد تلقى السيد النفّي دعوة لزيارة مرفأ روتردام، بهدف الاطلاع على أحدث نظم التشغيلية واللوجستيات العالمية.

السفير مولن أكد أن هولندا، بخبرتها التاريخية، ترى في مرفأ بيروت ركيزة أساسية للاستقرار الاقتصادي وشريك مرفئي في شرق المتوسط.
