We are pleased to see that the first hospital we built, in Dodowa, Ghana, is functioning well still and is such an important part of the community. It has just hosted a large-scale event to mark 'World Prematurity Day 2024' to raise awareness of the causes and outcomes.

We are pleased to see that work has begun on our new health centre in Manhize, Zimbabwe. This 20-bed facility is part of a project to build 5 district hospitals and 33 health centres across Zimbabwe.

Recently, our team in Zambia participated in a community clean-up. NMSI donated reflective jackets, face masks, gloves and rubbish bags for this event.

This initiative is more than just a clean-up, it’s about fostering a healthier, safer environment for all.

There have now been 1000 babies born in Fomena and Kumawu District Hospitals! This milestone shows just how successful the hospitals have been and what a difference they are making. The figure includes 325 cesarean sections which would not have been possible before.

We were delighted to be presented with the King’s Award for Excellence last week in our head office in Market Harborough. The award was in recognition for our achievements in International Trade and was presented by Vice Lord Lieutenant Col. Colville.

Last week we had the pleasure of welcoming the Ministry of Health to our completed hospitals in Kumawu and Fomena, Ghana. They received a tour of the facilities by Deputy Chairman Frederik Hsu and were very impressed with the state-of-the-art equipment on offer.

Last month we had the official opening of Mungule Mini Hospital in Zambia. This is hospital 110 of 115 to be handed over to the Ministry of Health in Zambia. These mini hospitals are transformative to the communities in which they have been built.

Yesterday, President Hakainde Hichilema commissioned Chifubu Level 1 Hospital in Ndola, Zambia. The 80 bed facility brings state-of-the-art healthcare to the Ndola region.

As part of our hospital programmes we include equipment Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance training for the hospital staff. Recently the training took place in Kumawu, Ghana, and Bouaké, Côte d'Ivoire in preparation for the handover of the hospitals.

Health and Safety on site is one of our top priorities. In Côte d'Ivoire the HSE team have delivered “Harness Awareness” training and emergency drills on our projects to reduce the risk of harnesses being fitted incorrectly.

NMSI conducted handover training on the Operational Environmental & Social Management Plan (OESMP) at the newly constructed Ndola District Hospital, Zambia. Led by NMSI’s Environmental Engineer, Mwati Sakala, the training was to ensure environmental and social impacts are avoided
