@Mikpwn The venue wont pay you less just because you get tips, tips arent a legal form of income unless you declare it with the tax department in which thats on you, not the employer. Hospitality has an award pay rate we go by, an employer cant go below that.

@Mikpwn Cost of living is quite high in Australia as we all know but you’d actually be shocked on how much our sector is paid compared to others. Tips are never asked and are never compulsory but are a huge help to our living expenses. Just those QR codes are the wrong way to go about it

@Mikpwn Unfortunately those QR apps that some restaurants (mainly pubs use) are 3rd party and the venue has no say on how the tip option is viewed on screen. Surprisingly the venue does receive the full amount of the tips and they are distributed fairly among the staff. Most of the time
