Visited Balboa today for some museum ventures. Not only was I astounded with the various items, but the breathtaking beauty of the park in total. Here’s some pictures from my day!
While it was up for debate, I believe it is very appropriate to display the Enola Gay. It is a large part of history, and should be displayed regardless of opinions. The nuclear bombs happened, no reason to hide from them now. #hist150@sdsu_h100
@sdsu_h100@TeganKehoe Museums are for sure inspirational institutions. While it may educate you on certain topics, the feeling and understanding of specific museum items can stick with a person for a lifetime. Museums can help you discover your passions. @sdsu_h100#hist150
“Inflicting physical pain does not count as torture unless the interrogator intends the pain to reach the level of organ failure or death.” That seems a bit extreme to me, you can be tortured without being killed. @sdsu_h100#hist150
Quote that rly stuck with me from pg. 20 of Are We Rome?
"Government only wins when it protects everywhere, terrorists win when they succeed anywhere."
Especially in our current mass shooting problem, this quote holds true today. @sdsu_h100#hist150
“How did the Polynesians greeting him when he landed on Easter’s coast reached such a remote island?” #hist150@sdsu_h100 kind of creepy to think about. How could they have reached the island with such non-advanced transportation?
@sdsu_h100 watching CCWH episode on “Rise of the West”, Montesquieu claimed tropical societies are less successful bc their populations are “lazy and lack inquisitiveness”. If he is right, I would fit in well in tropical society. #hist150
