It is with a heavy heart that one of the most legendary #Cubs fans has passed away. Jim Anixter aka “The Pink Hat Guy” died yesterday. A season ticket holder for 60 years, Jim was always seen in his trademark pink hat in the first row behind home plate.

Every year, I share this video of French caretakers who take sand from Omaha Beach in Normandy, and scrub them into the letters to give them the gold coloring.

They do this for all 9,386 US soldiers who died.
