A Muslim posted on X asking:
"Why can you drink in public in Japan, but Muslims can't pray in public?"
Then a Japanese user replied:
“Because it's our country. We make the rules, not you. Now get out.”
First point: Japan is not an Islamic country. There’s no reason he should automatically get special accommodations for public prayer, halal food, or building mosques.
Second point: How much freedom do Muslims actually give others in their own countries?
@harukaawake A fellow American saying this stuff makes my heart ache. Why are foreigners in Japan like this? They want to enjoy the stability and peace the Japanese built, but do nothing to maintain it and actively seek to tear it down.
🇯🇵 American comedian Patrick Harlan (Pakkun), who’s built a career as a TV personality and commentator in Japan, claims that mosques are super important so we should let them build them in Japan.
Why is this foreign person telling us what we should allow or shouldn't allow?
