大地震ですって夜中、外でアナウンスが響いてる。TikTok では「北海道千歳市地震えぐい。てか寒っ」って、雪の道路をスマホで撮ってんだから、日本人もだいぶタフだと思うのよね。でもさ、これが北海道の夜と地震のリアルなんだよ。

本州の人からしたら震度５弱って聞いただけで大事件だけど、北海道人からしたら、まず頭に浮かぶのが「ストーブ止まったら死ぬ」「外、マジで凍る」なんだよね。揺れの恐怖と同じくらい、寒さが命に直結してる。

テレビは全国向けだから「大地震」として伝える。

数字とグラフとテロップでインパクトを出す。　

一方、現場の人は「家族は？ストーブは？水道凍ってない？」って生活の細かい心配から入る。この温度差が、まさに災害報道と日常のギャップなんだよ。

あたしがしたい話は、どっちが間違いって話じゃない。

大事なのは、画面の中の大地震を他人事にしないことと、現場の「寒い」「えぐい」を、笑いだけで終わらせないこと。

雪国の夜に地震が来るってのはさ、揺れと停電と凍死リスクの三点セットなんだよ。

だから本当は、懐中電灯より先に毛布とカイロ、非常食より先に灯油とバッテリーを考えなきゃいけない土地でもある。

それでも、真っ暗な雪道を撮りながら「寒いわ〜」「地震えぐい」って声上げてる若いのを見てるとこの国の笑いながら生き延びる才能も、悪くはないと思うわよ。

ただ一個だけ。次の揺れが来たときは、撮る前にまず逃げた方がいい。生きてさえいれば、「さっきの地震マジでえぐかった」っていくらでも撮影できる。
