⠀such stubborn behavior from this one—makes him grit his teeth as he turns to look at the trainer, not even bothering to spare another look at the mangled mess behind him called a 'pokémon'.
seeing as they move towards the quivering zigzagoon, his eyes narrow beneath shadows.
⠀⠀⠀⁽ he peers over the others shoulder and spots the zigzagoon again. miki makes a grumble, still very much wanting it. ⁾
⠀⠀⠀whatever.
⠀⠀⠀𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐞.
⁽ steven moves to almost try and shove the other out of the way. nothing will stop his miki from geting a new toy. ⁾
⠀⠀whatever sound that had followed after from its impact would alert the zigzagoon once more, and so had it ran into some bushes close to a derelict fence.
leaving just them,
and the charizard, of course.
⠀⠀he stares.
and only after a moment of silence,
﹙ you’re not from here. ﹚
it is not a question, but fact. he’s not an idiot to know such a thing as he tilts his head, inquisitively so.
⠀⠀after a moment of leering at the two, the figure had let out a disgruntled noise. ultimately scoffing at the very sight of the trainer.
⠀a disgusting sight indeed, for he hadn't seen another face in a long time.
⠀
⠀⠀⠀⁽ somehow, they'd found a person. surely they had to be a trainer ... that zigzagoon looks like it knows 'em.
steven doesn't know what to say. that little glowing eye is throwing him off.
... a staring contest it is, then. ⁾
⠀⠀from where they were standing, the glowing light comes closer in the dark, the stranger makes his presence known the moment he manages to reach the other trainer.
for they are met with a disheveled man, his features shadowed. the scent of old blood lingered heavily on him.
⠀⠀with the charizard's loud, shrill cry it alerts the zigzagoon greatly as it dashed down the dry path, small footsteps pattering against the ground while more heavier steps followed.
leaving the trainer all on their lonesome.
⠀⠀⠀⁽ 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐦𝐢𝐤𝐢.
⠀⠀the zigzagoon bolts. she follows. steven is obligated to rush after her, but isn't overly concerned.
she needs a new chew toy any way. ⁾
⠀⠀whether or not that the charizard could fit within, at the very end of it lingered the scent of tobacco.
growing stronger as someone had entered its line of sight.
peering in, a single eye opened.
like light at the end of the tunnel.
⠀⠀it paws at the trainer desperately, an absurd change of pace in comparison to the competitive, playful behavior that the Pokémon usually presented.
﹙ rrr … ruff .ᐟ﹚
⠀⠀⠀as it seemed stressed with its behavior of biting and scratching at his shoes.
⠀⠀⠀⁽ —in the patch of grass it came from. this isn't even aggression.
⠀⠀why on earth is it acting like this?
it's stubborn. he manages to nudge it off and it just— latches right back on!
he's being beat out by a zigzagoon.
embarassing. ⁾
⠀⠀the zigzagoon barked once more before rescinding from steven, moving onto the dusty dirt path, cracked from the scalding heat.
⠀⠀looking to have goaded both the trainer alongside their pokémon to follow it into the very depths of the forest.
