I have gone to meet my tutor to confirm the items they sent for me, she said these ones are okay but there are many things i will still need to buy as time goes on.
The good part of this is that the place is very close by so i wouldn't need to be jumping one vehicle or another, it's trek-able.
It won't be an easy one, sitting all through the day mehn, God is my strength 🙏.
20 years old pilot. Here's where flying has taken me so far:
> 3x transatlantic crossings as Captain (PIC), single-engine piston
> Florida → India — ~13,000 km, PIC, no autopilot
> 2 oceans, 5 seas, 4 continents
> Snow landings on skis in the French Alps
> Greenland, Iceland, the Faroes, Arctic Canada, Egypt, the Middle East, UK, US
> Departed Oman 3 hours before it got hit during the US-Iran conflict
> Intercepted by F-18s near the USS Abraham Lincoln
> Oxygen failure + blacked out + hypoxia at 23,000 ft — and lived to write this tweet
FAA Commercial, FAA + EASA PPL, Instrument, Multi-engine, Tailwheel, High-performance & complex
Still feels like day one.
After searching for a place and someone whom could put me through a skill, i finally decided to go for tech design artist (nail 💅 tech)
I found a partially accessible place, and after talking with the lady, we agreed for 2 months, though she's a nursing mother, but we will try to cover up, she gave me lists of items to buy for the training for personal practicals..
There are a lot of items in that list, lots of money involved too,. Got some monetary assistance to help me purchase it, and finally the parcel is here.
I commit this phase into the hands of God Almighty, dear Lord, please grant me the strength, wisdom and knowledge to understand and master this skill, may my skill pave way to greatness for me in Christ's name Amen.
Waybill received, thanks so much to my vendor for delivering, i wasn't able to purchase everything in the list but i believe as time goes on, will get others one after another.
Have a blissful week ahead pals ❤️😊
Okay since the last post escaped containment, I should probably explain what the expedition is actually for 😂
There’s a major gap in high-resolution measurements across part of Antarctica, especially the Eastern region.
And that matters because predicting future sea level depends on understanding where the ice sheet gains and loses mass — how much snow accumulates, where the wind moves it, and how the ice itself flows.
So we’re turning a light twin into a tiny airborne observatory and flying radar + laser altimetry + multispectral imaging across that gap.
Some of what we’re looking for is wild:
— snow megadunes kilometers apart → radar underneath them to see how wind reshapes + redistributes centuries of snowfall
— the 1815 Tambora eruption layer → basically a 211-year-old timestamp buried in Antarctic snow
— missing surface-elevation measurements → precision laser mapping across places we still don’t measure well
— blue-ice meteorite zones → places where ice flow can concentrate rocks that literally fell from space
— buried layers + folded blue ice → clues to how the ice sheet itself flows, stretches + deforms
The question is: what is Antarctica gaining, losing, moving + preserving and what does that mean for the ice sheet we’re trying to model?
and Antarctica is only the main science campaign.
the plane is crossing all 7 continents so I’m opening the rest of the route to useful data collection too — sensors, atmospheric measurements, ground truth, mapping, hardware testing, weird experiments.
if I’m already flying somewhere difficult, I want the flight to leave useful measurements behind.
I have until November to make a $600,000 expedition pay for itself.
I'm 20. I'm flying a sensor-equipped twin engine across all 7 continents solo, including the South Pole.
Everyone told me to find sponsors. I'd rather find customers.
Got a problem that requires physically going somewhere inconvenient? Satellite, mapping, weather, autonomy, defense, climate, comms, weird hardware — I might already be flying there.
The plane is going regardless. Might as well get paid for the trip.
DM me.
If it works, I keep building. If it doesn't, I go the conventional route — college.
