Participated in the solemn yet deeply significant “Stand With HER” public rally organised by the Nagaland NGOs Forum and the Nagaland Schools Alliance.

This was more than a rally - it was a collective call for courage, justice and change.

We must never again allow fear, silence, stigma or shame to protect perpetrators while victims suffer in silence. Every child deserves to grow up in safety, dignity and hope, with the freedom to dream, aspire and achieve.

As we continue this journey, we must also strengthen our commitment to gender equality by creating greater opportunities for women, encouraging leadership and decision-making roles, and ensuring that equality is upheld not as a favour, but as a fundamental right based on merit, capability and character.

Let us stand together - for our children, for our women, and for a safer, more just and compassionate society.

I welcome the safe and humane release of the Kuki hostages by the United Naga Council and Naga civil society organisations, in response to the appeal made by Church bodies led by the Baptist World Alliance.

Nagaland too is blessed with a rich tapestry of stories, folklore, legends, and lived experiences. I hope our young artists, filmmakers, animators, and content creators draw inspiration from platforms such as these to create original content and share our unique narratives with audiences across the world.
