We're ordinary people in Haringey, London, facing service charges of up to £118k per household that are being imposed by a Labour council. We need your support!
In 2020 we set up this account to highlight our plight, as we faced bills of up to £118k for work @haringeycouncil had delayed for decades.
Four years on, the work is still not done & Haringey has found new ways to fleece us, charging extra for basics like covering up pipework.
Why won't you do a group meeting and inform us ALL at the same time. We've complained about the lack of communication from the beginning in 2020 and nothing has changed!
Earlier this year I heard from a LEASEHOLDER the works would restart in October 2025, this leaseholder allowed me to take my garden back before @Equans left the site. I was only told by David Stevenson AFTER they'd gone.
Is your lack of transparent communication causing headaches for leaseholders? It's time to improve! Enhance trust and satisfaction with clearer updates and information. #TransparentCommunication#LeaseholderWoes
FINAL CALL ‼️‼️Survey closes tomorrow
It was important we let this new government know that NOTHING has changed yet and we remain TRAPPED. Labour, when in opposition was always vocal on how inactive the previous government had been regarding tackling the Leasehold Scandal. Now they are in power, now they have a chance to change it.
The issues of Leasehold remain and the impact on people’s mental health and well-being is immense.
It is important to capture the true human impact this scandal is having on people’s lives and present these findings to the government.
We first jointly ran this survey five years ago, and this survey mirrors the previous one so that the results can be compared.
The survey is totally anonymous and takes about 10 minutes to complete, and closes tomorrow:

.@EQUANS_UK, the firm contracted by @haringeycouncil to carry out major works to our buildings, have been delaying the work for months.
No surprise they've been slated for poor performance in Stoke, where they've been slow to repair schools.

I really don’t understand how a building company can install windows yet leave gapping holes in the external walls allowing water to cause internal damp and mould damage for eight months. Totally bizarre, epic waste of money and potentially heightening risks to health.
When will this end? How much longer will our lives be blighted through no fault of our own? When will we stop paying for others' greed & incompetence, simply because we happened to be here in 2020?

Every year new faces appear at Haringey & its contractor @EQUANS_UK, soon replaced by new ones. There is no continuity, no accountability. Promises made one year are forgotten the next. Our roofs leak or collapse, repairs are left undone, & emergency calls & emails go unanswered.
Remember Peter Jeapes, who couldn't get through his new door in his wheelchair? A year on, he still can't and is waiting for @haringeycouncil to act.
Meanwhile, it's expecting us to PAY for these impossibly narrow doors.

Incompetent? Inept? Cost to correct?
Who’s responsible at @haringeycouncil for such waste of taxpayers’ money? Is this why council rents out #FinsburyPark ?
It seems @haringeycouncil can't see the irony in this pledge.
The past 4 years have been a long saga of poor communication, unanswered questions, non-consultation & non-engagement by a string of resident "liaison" officers.
The gap between pledge & reality couldn't be greater!
