Under the theme ‘Riding Through the Storms’, this year’s Dialogue will convene leaders, politicians and experts to reflect on a rapidly evolving 🌏 #global landscape: the discussions will focus on how shifting power dynamics are reshaping international relations, testing existing #security frameworks while also opening new avenues for dialogue and cooperation.

Against a backdrop of #economic volatility and increasing competition, participants will consider how stronger regional linkages, improved #connectivity, and trade can 📉contribute to #stability and shared prosperity. In parallel, discussions will address the growing challenge of hybrid threats, noting that despite mounting pressures, democratic systems are forging partnerships for stronger resilience. The program will also explore the urgent need for sustainable approaches that respect and protect the natural environment, in line with global climate priorities, including those to be advanced at #COP17🌱.

Good to meet with Mr. Nicolae Ștefănuță, Vice-President of the @Europarl_EN, on the sidelines of the #IPU152 Assembly in #Istanbul.
We discussed strengthening cooperation between the National Assembly of Armenia and the European Parliament, #Armenia–#EU relations, ongoing democratic reforms & upcoming parliamentary elections in Armenia, as well as peace with #Azerbaijan & recent regional developments.
I also drew attention to the issue of the #Armenian detainees held in Azerbaijan, & the matter of missing persons.

Within the framework of the #IPU152 Assembly in #Istanbul, I had an exchange with the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, @NumanKurtulmus.
I welcomed my colleague’s recent proposal, voiced during his meeting with the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, to include #Armenia in the #Türkiye–#Georgia–#Azerbaijan format, as a step toward promoting #peace, #stability & #prosperity in our region.
We also discussed further details related to advancing this initiative.

On 17 April 2026, on the sidelines of the #IPU152 in #Istanbul, I met with @Speaker_Az Ms. Sahiba Gafarova.
We noted with satisfaction the recent progress in the normalization of relations between our countries, including efforts to strengthen #peace, stability, & expand trade ties.
We highlighted the important role of the @IPUparliament as a platform for interparliamentary cooperation & expressed appreciation to Secretary General @MartinChungong for his efforts in facilitating dialogue.
We also welcomed the renewed contacts between our parliamentary delegations since our meeting in Geneva in October 2025 & agreed to continue this engagement.
Constructive parliamentary dialogue remains key to building trust between our societies.
