Fellow Nigerians, Esteemed Stakeholders, Valued Customers, and Dedicated Staff of the Nigeria Railway Corporation,
I warmly welcome you all to the year 2026, a year of renewed hope, greater opportunities, and strengthened commitment to national development.
As we reflect on the year 2025, I extend my profound appreciation to Mr. President, His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his unwavering support and clear vision for the revitalization of Nigeria’s railway system as a catalyst for economic growth, national integration, and sustainable transportation. I also acknowledge the Federal Ministry of Transportation, our partners, stakeholders, and the Nigerian people for their continued trust in the Nigeria Railway Corporation.
The past year was marked by resilience, reforms, and progress. Despite operational challenges, we recorded notable improvements in service delivery, passenger satisfaction, infrastructure maintenance, safety awareness, and staff dedication across our corridors. These achievements were made possible by the hard work, discipline, and patriotism of our workforce and the cooperation of our valued customers.
As we step into 2026, the Nigeria Railway Corporation is firmly committed to deepening service excellence, improving operational efficiency, expanding freight and passenger services, and strengthening safety and security across our rail network. Our focus remains aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government—delivering a modern, reliable, and people-oriented railway system that supports commerce, mobility, and national unity.
I assure Nigerians that 2026 will be a year of consolidation and innovation. We will intensify efforts in asset protection, staff capacity building, customer service improvement, infrastructure sustainability, and stakeholder engagement to ensure rail transportation remains a dependable alternative for both passengers and goods nationwide.
To our esteemed passengers, thank you for choosing rail and for your constructive feedback which continues to guide our improvements. To our dedicated staff, your commitment and sacrifices do not go unnoticed; together, we will continue to raise the standards of professionalism and service in NRC. To our partners and stakeholders, we look forward to deeper collaboration in advancing Nigeria’s rail sector.
As we begin this new year, I urge all Nigerians to continue to support and protect railway assets, as they belong to us all and are vital to our collective progress.
On behalf of the Management and staff of the Nigeria Railway Corporation, I wish you and your families a prosperous, peaceful, and fulfilling New Year 2026. May this year bring renewed hope, good health, and shared success for our nation.
Happy New Year.
