Spain is ripping out centuries-old olive groves for solar farms.

In Andalusia, trees that took decades to reach maturity are being uprooted for panel arrays.

This is a direct land-for-energy trade.

26 terawatt-hours of output from solar requires roughly 130,000 acres, whereas a modern nuclear plant would deliver that same power using just 430 acres. That is a land gap approaching 300 to 1 (and wind farms are even worse).

Solar's footprint is not just panels. It is roads, fencing, substations, transmission lines and backup systems.

Spain has already stress-tested a high renewables grid. In April 2025, a nationwide blackout followed low grid inertia and heavy reliance on inverter-based generation.

The Spanish government is doubling down on this failure.

In my view, Musk has also done this country a huge service with his relentless exposing of the grooming gangs scandal, which became huge global news, and now with the shocking murder of Henry Nowak. He’s shone a spotlight on the scandalous, callous way he was treated by police and pushed for the release of bodycam footage.

That’s exactly why Starmer hates him. They prefer to sweep these scandals under the rug, but Musk and X make it far harder to do so.

I’m getting sick and tired of Keir Starmer and other left-wing politicians cherry-picking one segment of the Nowak family’s statement about not wanting this to cause further division in an attempt to silence political opponents through guilt.

That isn’t all the Nowak family said.

They also said that Henry was treated differently by the police to Vickrum Digwa. They also said they wanted the Kirpan banned along with all other knives.

Starmer has respected neither of those wishes. He has denied that two-tier policing exists and refused to support banning the Kirpan.

So please don’t start lecturing other politicians about respecting the family’s wishes when you are not doing so yourself.
