This alligator made himself right at home overnight in Venetian Bay. A Florida Fish and Wildlife trapper safely removed the gator from the pool. Don’t let the angle fool you - he was approximately 10 foot long! 😮

2:15pm: The hold at New Smyrna Beach High School has been lifted. All students and staff are safe. Volusia Sheriff's Office detectives are investigating the incident.
5/7/24 11:38am: New Smyrna Beach High School and New Smyrna Beach Middle School are currently on lockdown as law enforcement responds to the NSBHS to investigate a reported threat.

1:10pm: The high school is still on lockdown while law enforcement completes their search and begins to clear the campus. At this time, no weapons have been found and no arrests have been made.
12:50pm: The lockdown at the middle school has been lifted.
