In Alabama a man said "Roll Tide" to me as a greeting.
Later that same day, the same man said "Roll Tide" as a goodbye.
I asked a woman at the store what it means.
She said, "Roll Tide."
I asked what it means.
She said, "It means Roll Tide, sugar."
So I began collecting evidence. I kept a list. I am not embarrassed about the list.
I have now heard "Roll Tide" used as: hello. Goodbye. Thank you. I am sorry. Congratulations. That is unfortunate. I agree. I disagree. And once, in a hardware store, as a complete set of instructions for installing a ceiling fan.
I heard it said at a funeral.
It was appropriate. It was the most appropriate thing anyone said that day.
I began using it. Carefully at first, the way a man handles a borrowed sword.
I said it to a cashier. She said it back.
I said it to a police officer who had stopped me for a broken taillight.
He looked at me for a long moment. He looked at my face. He looked at my taillight.
Then he said it back, and nodded once, and did not write the ticket.
I wish to be extremely clear that I am not claiming those two events are related.
I am also not claiming they are unrelated.
A man at a gas station heard my accent and asked where I was from. I told him Japan.
He said, "Roll Tide."
He meant welcome. I knew he meant welcome. There was no ambiguity at all.
I have been in Alabama eleven days.
I have one word.
It has been enough for everything.
I have started saying it in other states.
It does not work in other states.
I said it in a warehouse store in Oregon. One man turned around.
He was from Alabama. He said it back. We did not speak after that. We did not have to.
I say it anyway.
America is such an incredible nation, even the poorest people are overfed and obese, and the people who whine the loudest about the country refuse to leave.
@burning_gr4nt Oh here we go with the Tony show. This man should have been actor and not a mayor. That was proven during his Oscar winning performances during BP town hall meetings 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
A political rift in Orange Beach over an ethics complaint filed against him by three city councilors has pushed Mayor Tony Kennon to skip future executive sessions.
One council member is now asking if he should stay in office after hearing his decision.

Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup released a new “Hershey’s Simply 5 chocolate syrup” that only contains 5 ingredients
But this begs the question, if they can make this syrup with only 5 ingredients. Why have they been selling us the normal one with 12 ingredients and chemicals. Here are the full ingredients for comparison
Classic Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup ingredients:
• High Fructose Corn Syrup
• Corn Syrup
• Water
• Sugar
• Cocoa
• Potassium Sorbate
• Salt
• Xanthan Gum
• Mono- and Diglycerides
• Polysorbate 60
• Vanillin (artificial flavor)
It includes HFCS, preservatives, stabilizers, and artificial flavor
Hershey’s Simply 5 Chocolate Syrup ingredients:
• Sugar (or cane sugar)
• Organic Invert Syrup (or organic invert cane syrup)
• Water
• Cocoa
• Natural Vanilla Flavor
Many people are saying the new Simply 5 tastes much better. They’re saying it’s more natural, richer chocolate flavor and less artificial aftertaste
DISGUSTING: The New York Times is getting absolutely TORCHED for MOCKING Second Lady Usha Vance, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, and Katie Miller—wife of Stephen Miller—for proudly showing off their visible baby bumps in form-fitting maternity clothes instead of hiding them under loose muumuus.
NYT: “Forget the maternity muumuu. Forget body-con. This is baby-con.”
SLOTUS Usha Vance CLAPPED back writing on 𝕏: “Now that we know the political significance of my $8.75 coral maternity dress from Old Navy, can’t wait to hear what the New York Times has to say about my elastic-waistband pants and compression socks! In the meantime, enjoy my pregnancy fashion (or lack thereof) and a good story with your kids on Storytime with the Second Lady.”
Vice President JD Vance responded: “She bought a $50 dress for $8.75. America: meet your next director of the federal budget!”
You don’t hate the media enough!
@DavidArtGar@spencerpratt I did read the full report and completely understand the construct of the building. That does not negate having a SOP in place if a fire were to occur. Again this is a not a third world country where these protocols are not put into place and then have emergency plans to contain.
Good people have high levels of empathy, but once that empathy is exhausted, they switch to a state of objective observation. They see you for exactly who you are, without the filter of their love. This is why their anger feels so cold, it is the absence of the warmth you took for granted
New: Joe Rogan is disgusted as he and Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan expose how schools totally scam kids with ADHD:
ROGAN: “Anybody who’s good at anything is either ADHD or autistic.”
SHERIDAN: “It’s a superpower if you understand what it really is.”
ROGAN: “Our education system is designed to take kids who are full of life and just take it away from them.
They force them to sit still, stay put, and listen to boring sh*t and it just sucks away all their energy.”
SHERIDAN: “The modern day education system was created by the Rockefellers as a way to create workers.”
ROGAN: “100%. It creates compliant workers and soldiers.”
SHERIDAN: “The earlier you get them the easier they are to manipulate.”
ROGAN: “That’s why they are teaching kids about pride month and all this trans stuff in preschool now. These kids are 6 years old. What in the world are we really doing here?”
SHERIDAN: “That’s why they have child suicide bombers. They don’t try to recruit 40 year old guys with a family to strap a vest on. They try to get kids who don’t know any better.”
ROGAN: “It could be being a Christian, a Muslim, or even their political ideology. If you get kids young enough you can talk them into doing almost anything.”
School suspends a 5-year-old for fighting.
Dad gets called in. Expecting him to apologize, punish his son, and play the good little parent.
Instead the dad listens to his son:
“This kid was picking on me at recess. I asked him to stop. He didn’t.”
Then the dad turns to the principal and says what every father in America has been thinking:
“So you don’t even know what the bully was doing to my kid… but you’re suspending MY son for ending it?”
He looks at the bully kid and says:
“You gonna think twice before you bully my son again.”
Then he turns to his boy, gives him knuckles right there in the office in front of the principal, assistant principal, counselor, and nurse:
“Son, I’m proud of you. You ain’t suspended. You got a three-day vacation. It’s hunting season. Let’s go.”
Zero tolerance policies are a joke.
They only tolerate one thing: kids who won’t defend themselves.
This dad just reminded every weak administrator in America what real parenting looks like.
Raise men. Not victims.
The “Boom Belt” is basically America’s new economic engine.
11 states:
Alabama
Arkansas
Florida
Georgia
Louisiana
Mississippi
North Carolina
Oklahoma
South Carolina
Tennessee
Texas
Together, these states would have the 3rd largest GDP in the world.
They’re responsible for around 70% of U.S. population growth and 57% of all new jobs.
@Victor_O87@Real_RobN Yessss……was shady and I remember following everywhere and even old twitter predicted he would be recalled. Tons of friends in Cali from all different parts were ecstatic believing the momentum was so strong was a for sure recall, then BAM.
This is the world we deserve. Not the one that the media and politicians use to divide us.
Maybe the most powerful thing about the World Cup isn’t who wins the trophy. It’s millions of people discovering that the stranger they were taught to fear turns out to be a friend they just hadn’t met yet. That’s the kind of thing that restores faith in humanity. ❤️🌎⚽
@AndrewKolvet I don’t know where he has been but I feel more American then ever and not because of him or his party. He truly triggers me with his gaslighting and narcissism
