'Forte': the part of a sword where the blade is strongest

I know a lot of tools are being offered free right now but...
It is a mistake to use and fall in love with a product that is not going to be supported after all of this.
We need districts to redo their budgets to get teachers the tools they need. Free is not sustainable
@alicekeeler I think you’ve seen this TED talk from @conradwolfram, who eloquently makes the case for leveraging computers to reduce both the tedium and time spent on this step. https://t.co/sMoGOJhYm1
@alicekeeler Interestingly, the square root algorithm disappeared from classrooms long before calculators. I learned using a combination of tables and a slide rule. I’m thankful for the calculator but still enjoy playing with my old slide rule. It served me well.
@alicekeeler@kidslearn2code Now go change a tire or do your taxes. That’s engaging. If it’s all about life skills, schools aren’t needed at all. Polynomials are just incidental.
@alicekeeler@kidslearn2code Your hashtags are loaded with false assumptions you can’t/don’t/won’t justify. I am not a computer sexist. Also, I was agreeing with you, albeit carrying your argument to its logical conclusion.
@alicekeeler@kidslearn2code Life skills are all that matter. Maybe it’s time to consider ending formal education after 5th grade and move to apprenticeships to prepare for workforce.
