Hello Writer (and non-writer) friends!
For the past couple of years, I've been making my living as a Story Consultant, Script Doctor, and Screenwriter. I've found a really cool niche for myself helping writers (and non-writers!) shape and elevate their ideas and their scripts...
Many filmmakers have came out praising ‘COYOTE VS ACME’ after WB just shelved it for a $30M tax write-off.
“The best of its kind since ROGER RABBIT…. The leads are super likable. It's beautifully shot. The animation is great. The ending makes everyone fucking cry.”
“It gets a bad rap because the studios tried pumping out a new film every year, which obviously was never going to work from a quality standpoint, but if you just watch the three films Craven worked on; 1, 3 & 7, it’s actually the best horror trilogy of all time.”
Stop giving that one dude attention and remember the publications are run by the same people we’re striking against. They will highlight any anti-strike union member, no matter how boring their face is, in an attempt to divide public perception. Anyway, this clip is hilarious.
The greed is almost a legendary comic trope - one fun fact - when I was a youngin- I did a film (with a boom box ) and somehow I got points - net not gross.
Never expected to see any money - but the film became quite famous - so about 10 years ago - I looked again at the financial statements they were obligated to report - and to my shock - they claimed they had LOST 44 million dollars on the film -
I thought wow , I almost bankrupted Fox! ( not really )
The film cost about 13 million to make - and money spent to release was minimal at the time - 30 years in - that film lost millions every year ! A neat accounting trick don’t ya think ?

The Land Before Time lost an eighth of its runtime because some of its original sequences were simply deemed too frightening for children. John Cawley's book "The Animated Films of Don Bluth" features an excerpt from an old issue of ANIMATION Magazine that details the exact changes made. The excerpted article says that 19 scenes were cut in total, "including front-on scenes portraying the children in severe jeopardy and distress." Some characters' screams were also apparently re-recorded with less emotionally intense audio.
The ANIMATION Magazine article cited in Cawley's book also confirms that executive producers Stephen Spielberg and George Lucas both had concerns about the "psychological damage" the T-rex attack sequence could have on small kids.
11 years ago I had a meeting with Marvel Studios about the possibility of doing a Guardians of the Galaxy movie. I remember driving home & thinking I didn't want to make a movie LIKE Star Wars, but a movie that made people FEEL like Star Wars made me feel as a kid. Outlandish characters, extraordinary locations, a space opera with a touch of magic filled with heart. Thank you, Star Wars, for inspiring me, & how appropriate that the third part of our trilogy is playing in theaters all across the world tonight on May the 4th. #MayThe4thBeWithYou #GotGVol3
