8 in 10 new HIV diagnoses affect #LGBT young people. LGBT youth are also less likely to receive relevant sex education, as 9 states require inclusive info and 3 require negative info on diverse sexual orientations to be taught in sex-ed.

According to @HRC, 1 in 4 new #HIV infections occur in young people. There are 16 states that do not have mandated HIV education and 13 do not require the information to be medically accurate.
1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys under 18 have face some sort of #SexualAssault. However, no states require consent to be taught in sex-ed and only 23 teach skills to avoid coercion.
25 States require #abstinence to be stressed in sex-education. 18 of these states teach the importance of sex within marriage and 19 do not require info on #contraceptives.
