Ms. Sandra from Emergency Preparedness with Pedro the Penguin recently came to teach Mrs. Colson and Mrs. Webber's classes about emergencies and how to be prepared. Each student received a booklet about emergencies and a first aid kid.
Unique learning experiences are happening in Ms. Bedgoodβs Pre-K 3 classroom! In the first photo, students engage in Puppet Theatre with NFHS intern Miss Makayla during Choice Time. In the second photo, a student displays his knowledge of patterns during breakfast.
Mrs. Restaino's, Mrs. Maggadino's and Mrs. Colson's kindergarten classes received 169 valentines from 46 states by participating in Hearts Around the World! The students were so excited to open Valentines from people across the country!
Bond families came to the school's Greenhouse on Wednesday to make tissue paper seed bombs. Students learned about how to take care of a plant and what plants need to grow. Students created a capsule for the seeds out of tissue paper and cookie cutters.
Our Family Math and Movement Day was a big success! Visitors had the chance to eat breakfast with their children and participate in some fun math and movement activities. They also took home a math activity bag.
Our next exciting SayYes Saturday Academy at Bloneva Bond is on Feb. 21st and will celebrate Black History Month! There will be exciting activities and attractions free for the whole family, including crafts, storytelling, art, music, interactive stations and more!
We wish to thank everyone for the kind words of support as we both grieve and celebrate the life of Diana Burbee. Diana was great! She loved working with our students and staff, and that showed in her work every day. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family.
Mrs. Restaino's kindergarten class is once again participating in Hearts Around the World and is hoping to receive Valentines from people across the country! Please spread the word if you or anyone you know would like to send them a Valentine.
Miss. Bonura and Mrs. Webber's kindergarten classes learned about the Feast of the Epiphany aka La Befana Day. Students read a story, heard the folktales of the Italian witch, created shoes and colored pictures of La Befana. Their sneakers and artwork were hung in the hallway.
Special thanks to the members of the NFHS Wolverine Marching Band for surprising our students on the last day before winter break and performing in the hallways. They did an amazing job and our students were excited to cheer them on!
Ms. Cosgrove and Ms. Bedgood's Pre-K 3 students celebrated their clothing WOW week with a guest presentation and activity by Ms. Hamilton, a seamstress and fashion designer. The students used yarn to stitch together a skirt, pants, a vest jacket, and a duffel bag.
First graders in Ms. Everts, Mrs. Booker and Mrs. Butera's classes put on an amazing performance last week during our Winter Concert led by music teacher Ms. Gawron.
