Celebrating Trail-blazing African Nova Scotian Women Teachers

Portraits of five African Nova Scotian women, four of whom championed the fight as teachers for a more equitable education, will be unveiled Friday at the Colchester East Hants Library in Truro.

The project is led by Dr. Lynn Jones and funded and hosted by the Nova Scotia Women’s History Society and the African Nova Scotian community in Truro. It honors women whose historic accomplishments are under-represented and often ignored.
