Evidently, constitutional changes without wider consultations, mishandling of regional elections and delay in federal electoral agreement have further fragmented the country. But, we must not loose the courage to fix these political and legal issues and eventually compel Federal and State leaders to understand and accept the constitutional limits of their own powers

Bismillah…
Thank you Puntland Development Research Center (PDRC) team for a great 4th Annual Peace conference held in the hospitable atmosphere of Garowe.
This was a great venue for exchange of ideas & a serious search for concrete solutions to a longstanding issues.
In addition, networking and corridor diplomacy at the conference hall offered additional opportunities to meet, great & share ideas with old and new friends.
Despite few extreme viewpoints on both sides, the overwhelming sentiment of the majority was that the third republic can & should by all means necessary be sustained.
In that regard, both government & opposition have a moral obligation to realize the enormity of what is at stake & come to the negotiations table immediately without preconditions.
Somalia deserves better.
Special thanks to PDRC director Mr. Abdinassir & staff member Maryama and to my good friend Hassan Binge!

🚨 #BREAKING Somalia condemns #Israel over the recognition of a “separatist enclave” and warns of regional security fallout.
NEW YORK - Somalia has strongly condemned Israel at the United Nations Security Council on Wednesday over the recognition of a “separatist enclave” in its northwestern region, saying the move violates its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Speaking at the United Nations Security Council, #Somalia’s Permanent Representative, @AbukarOsman1 , rejected the reported appointment of ''a so-called ambassador'' to the ''separatist enclave''', saying the move amounts to a violation of Somalia’s sovereignty.
The Somali delegation @SomaliaatUN alleged that Israeli diplomatic engagement with the Somalia's separatist administration of “#Somaliland” may be linked to broader strategic and military interests in the Horn of #Africa and Red Sea, including the potential establishment of Israeli military bases under diplomatic cover.
Somalia further warned that such developments could exacerbate instability in the Horn of Africa and the wider Red Sea region, both of which are already facing heightened security challenges.
The delegation also raised broader geopolitical concerns, referring to what it described as wider patterns of displacement-related policies affecting #Palestinians, and warned against any demographic or territorial changes under such pretexts.
It said the developments reflect a broader erosion of international law, continued impunity, and a lack of political will to resolve long-standing conflicts at their root causes.
Israeli authorities have not publicly responded to the specific allegations raised during the Security Council session.
The remarks came during ongoing discussions at the Security Council on escalating geopolitical tensions and their implications for international peace and security.
