#Eritrea’s Agricultural Development Over the Past 35 Years: Advancements in Water Reservoir Construction and Livestock Development (Part I)
by Ermias Solomon - MoA Public Relations Division
*"... Over the past 35 years of independence, Eritrea has made remarkable progress in transforming its agricultural sector through sustained investment in water resource development; soil and water conservation, and livestock production. These achievements, realized through the Government’s own efforts and in collaboration with development partners, have played a decisive role in improving food security, strengthening rural livelihoods, and enhancing the resilience of farming communities across the country".
*"...As Eritrea celebrates 35 years of independence, these milestones stand as clear evidence of what can be achieved through visionary leadership, community participation, and unwavering national determination. The progress registered over the past three and a half decades provides a solid platform for further advances in agricultural development and for ensuring a more prosperous future for all Eritreans".

President Isaias Afwerki and his delegation returned home in the early afternoon hours today winding down a fruitful visit to Egypt.
During the five-day working visit, President Isaias Afwerki held extensive discussions with his Egyptian counterpart, President Abdel Fatah el-Sisi, on consolidation of the ties of friendship and cooperation that exist between the two countries as well as on shared perspectives on regional issues and the security of the Red Sea.
President Isaias also attended the Inauguration Ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum.
In an interview with Egyptian TV (Cairo News) yesterday, President Isaias referred to the historical ties between Eritrea and Egypt which have been bolstered with time, and their closely aligned positions on various regional and international issues. President Isaias Afwerki further underlined the imperative for the countries of the region to work together for the promotion of peace and security and to foil deleterious external interferences.
President Donald Trump has sent a letter to President Isaias Afwerki, on July 30 this week, underlining that he is "reversing the negative, harmful damage of the Biden Administration around the globe".
In his message that also expresses appreciation for President Isaias' letter of Congratulations of November last year, President Trump referred to his Administration's readiness to re-establish a respectful and productive national relationship between the US and Eritrea "based on honesty, respect, and opportunities to improve peace and prosperity across the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea".
As it will be recalled, President Isaias had sent a warm message of Congratulations to President Trump in November last year on his "historic comeback and election as the 47th President of the United States of America...at a very crucial time when global peace is of paramount importance more than ever before".
President Isaias had at the time expressed his hopes that President Trump's "election will open a new chapter of fruitful and constructive ties of cooperation between Eritrea and the US".
#Eritrea: a nation forged through struggle (Part III & Final); by Bana Negusse
*Shortly after the EPLF victoriously rolled into Asmara in 1991, preparations were begun to conduct an internationally supervised referendum as the final diplomatic thread in Eritrea’s long and arduous struggle to assert its inalienable right of decolonization. On 29 May, Isaias Afwerki, then Secretary-General of the EPLF, called upon the UN to, “shoulder its moral responsibilities [to help conduct a free and fair referendum on Eritrea’s self-determination] without further delay”.
*Eritrea’s path to independence stands as one of the most determined and resilient liberation movements of the 20th century. Against overwhelming odds and the indifference of the global community, Eritreans fought, endured, and triumphed. Their final victory was not merely the toppling of an occupationist regime but the fulfillment of a collective dream long dismissed as impossible.
*The legacy of Eritrea’s liberation war continues to shape its national identity. It serves as a stark reminder of the costs of freedom and the enduring power of a people united in pursuit of justice and sovereignty.
